WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

CALL TO WORSHIP

Psalm 89:5-7

PRAYER OF ADORATION

HYMNS OF ADORATION

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!

O my soul, praise him, for he is thy health and salvation!

All ye who hear, now to his temple draw near,

join me in glad adoration.

Praise to the Lord, who o'er all things so wondrously reigneth, shelters thee under his wings, yea, so gently sustaineth! Hast thou not seen, how thy desires

e'er have been, granted in what he ordaineth?

Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper thy work and defend thee! Surely his goodness and mercy here daily attend thee;

ponder anew, what the Almighty will do,

if with his love he befriend thee!

Praise to the Lord! O let all that is in me adore him!

All that hath life and breath, come now with praises

before him. Let the Amen sound from his people

again; gladly for aye we adore him.

Be Unto Your Name

Music and Lyrics: Lynn DeShazo; Gary Sadler

We are a moment, You are forever, Lord of the Ages, God before time. We are a vapor, You are eternal,

Love everlasting, reigning on high.

Chorus: Holy, holy, Lord God Almighty; worthy is the lamb who was slain. Highest praises, honor and glory; be unto Your name, be unto Your name

We are the broken, You are the healer; Jesus, Redeemer, mighty to save. You are the love song we'll sing forever,

bowing before You, blessing Your name. Chorus

CONFESSION OF SIN

Our God, you have extended kindness toward us in Christ. But too often, we have failed to extend kindness toward others. We have spoken lies instead of truth. Our anger has become poisonous. We have been takers instead of givers. Our words have been destructive rather than constructive. We have grieved your Spirit. Forgive us for the ways we have failed to live as people who have experienced your mercy. Grant that by your Spirit, we would grow into kind people because we know the kindness of our Savior, in whose name we pray, Amen.

SILENT CONFESSION OF SIN

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Psalm 103:8-10

HYMN OF PARDON

The Power of the Cross

Music and Lyrics: Keith Getty; Stuart Townend

Oh, to see the dawn of the darkest day:

Christ on the road to Calvary. Tried by sinful men,

torn and beaten, then nailed to a cross of wood.

Chorus: This, the pow'r of the cross:

Christ became sin for us; took the blame, bore the wrath—

We stand forgiven at the cross.

Oh, to see the pain written on Your face, bearing the awesome weight of sin. Ev'ry bitter thought, ev'ry evil deed,

crowning Your bloodstained brow. Chorus

Now the daylight flees; now the ground beneath quakes as its Maker bows His head. Curtain torn in two, dead are raised to life; "Finished!" the vict'ry cry. Chorus

Oh, to see my name written in the wounds, for through Your suffering I am free. Death is crushed to death; life is mine to live, won through Your selfless love.

Final Chorus: This, the pow'r of the cross:

Son of God—slain for us. What a love! What a cost!

We stand forgiven at the cross.

CONFESSION OF FAITH

The Westminster Shorter Catechisim

Question 87: What is repentance unto life?

Answer: Repentance unto life is a saving grace, whereby a sinner, out of a true since of his sin, and apprehension of the mercy of God in Christ, does, with grief and hatred of his sin, turn from it to God, with full purpose of, and endeavor after, new obedience.

HYMN OF RESPONSE

Jesus, I Come

Music: Greg Thompson

Out of my bondage, sorrow and night, Jesus, I come; Jesus I come. Into Thy freedom, gladness and light, Jesus, I come to Thee. Out of my sickness into Thy health, out of my wanting and into Thy wealth, out of my sin and into Thyself,

Jesus, I come to Thee.

Out of my shameful failure and loss, Jesus, I come; Jesus, I come. Into the glorious gain of Thy cross, Jesus, I come to Thee. Out of earth’s sorrows into Thy balm, out of life’s storms and into Thy calm, out of distress into jubilant psalm,

Jesus, I come to Thee.

Out of unrest and arrogant pride, Jesus, I come; Jesus, I come. Into Thy blessed will to abide, Jesus, I come to Thee.

Out of myself to dwell in Thy love, out of despair into raptures above, upward forever on wings like a dove,

Jesus, I come to Thee.

Out of the fear and dread of the tomb, Jesus, I come; Jesus, I come. Into the joy and light of Thy home, Jesus, I come to Thee. Out of the depths of ruin untold, into the peace of Thy sheltering fold, ever Thy glorious face to behold,

Jesus, I come to Thee.
