A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in honor and loving memory of Harold S. Hunt, Sr.

WHEREAS, a loyal son of the Commonwealth, Harold S. Hunt, Sr., was born on May 28, 1925, in Fleming County; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Hunt served in World War II in the 102nd Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron Mechanized. Wounded at Normandy in 1944, he was awarded five Bronze Stars, a Distinguished Unit Citation, a World War II Victory Medal, a Good Conduct Medal, and a Purple Heart. After his return to the United States, he joined the 400th General Supply in Maysville and proudly served as a mentor to young soldiers; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Hunt worked as a printer at the Flemingsburg Gazette and the Maysville Daily Independent. He also worked in the printing department of Browning Manufacturing until his retirement in 1989; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Hunt served God at the Seddon Methodist Church. A faithful steward, he was a lay leader and superintendent of Sunday School; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by his mother, Roxie Hysong Hunt; his mother's husband, Avery Hunt; and his sister, Clarabelle Markwell. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth "Betty" McRoberts Hunt; his daughters, Anita Carol (Bill) Myers, Harriett "Vonnie" Polley, and Patricia L. (Rodney) Earehart; his son, Harold S. "Buddy" Hunt, Jr.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Hunt departed this earthly life on January 25, 2011, and an entire community joins his family and friends in mourning his loss;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its most profound sense of sorrow and proffers its sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Harold S. Hunt, Sr.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of Harold S. Hunt, Sr.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Representative Mike Denham for delivery to the family.
