8th Grade Mini-Club Descriptions
Yoga Camp / Learn the basics of yoga and strengthen your core!Hip-hop / Learn and perform a hip-hop dance to "This is what you came for" by Rihanna & Calvin Harris choreography by Matt Steffanina
Painters Network / Create, draw, design and PAINT school-wide murals, paintings on canvas, ceiling tiles, sets/scenery for musicals and more!
Disc Golf / Learn to play disc golf on PRMS Course
Creative Coloring and Sketching / Color, create, and draw while relaxing and listening to music. Help create posters for fundraisers.
Study Hall / Read a book or use the time for catching up on school work
Pirate PALS / Students that are already in Pirate PALS. We will use this time to work on club activities and support 6th grade students
Yearbook / Students who are part of the yearbook club will go to Mrs. Harrell for flex time. They do NOT need to register.
Peer Tutors / AIG students will tutor Pre-Algebra students-TUTORS ALREADY ASSIGNED (pull out session during Math remediation)
Quiz Bowl / Team competition on every subject under the sun! Are you smarter than a 6th grader....
Poetry Slam & Songwriting / Students learn the basics of poetry slam. Student have the chance to create their own poem or song to perform for the club.
Improvisational Theater Club / "Improvisational Theater, sometimes called just improv, is a form of theater where most or all of what is performed is created at the moment it is performed, with little or no pre-planning. In it's purest form, the dialogue, the action, the story and the characters are created collaboratively by the players as the improvisation unfolds. In some forms, one or more of those attributes might be decided on beforehand while the others are created in the moment".
Make a difference club / This club will be helping to make positive changes in our school and around the Porter Ridge community.
