The parish of Winnersh includes the two settlements of Winnersh and Sindlesham. It is situated in Berkshire between Wokingham and Reading. The centre of the area is known as the “Winnersh crossroads”, the junction of the A329 Wokingham to Reading road and the B3030 Arborfield to Twyford road, where Sainsbury’s supermarket provides a prominent landmark on the corner.

The parish has excellent road and rail communications, with easy access to the M4 motorway via the A329(M), and two stations (Winnersh and Winnersh Triangle) on the Reading to Waterloo line.

Road

Via M4

At M4 Junction 10, join A329 (M). Leave at next junction, at end of slip road take 3rd exit off roundabout. At next roundabout, take 1st exit under railway bridge. At next roundabout, take 1st exit on to A329. Drive approx 1 mile to Winnersh Crossroads traffic lights (Sainsbury’s store on right). Turn right on to B3030 King Street Lane, follow road under motorway to mini roundabout, take 2nd exit into Mole Road. Winnersh Community Hall can be seen on your left across the playing fields. Car park entrance is on the left before the next roundabout. On the end of the buildings is a sign “Bearwood Recreation Ground”.

Via M3

At Junction 3, take A322 through Bracknell. Where A329(M) begins, take slip road to join A329 into Wokingham. Wokingham Town Centre is one-way; follow signs to continue on A329 towards Reading. Drive for approximately2 miles,passing under the M4, to Winnersh Crossroads traffic lights (Sainsbury’s on left), turn left on to B3030 King Street Lane. Follow road, passing under motorway once again, to mini roundabout, take 2nd exit into Mole Road. Winnersh Community Hall can be seen on your left across the playing fields. Car park entrance is on the left before the next roundabout. On the end of the buildings is a sign “Bearwood Recreation Ground”.

Reading is well served by trains from all parts of the country. Direct trains run to Reading from Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, Derby, London, Newcastle, York, Sheffield, Manchester, Bournemouth, Southampton. (This is not a definitive list. Other trains from these stations may involve changes.)

London Paddington to Reading

Every half hour, journey time 48 minutes

LondonWaterloo to Winnersh

Four trains an hour, journey time 1hour 10 minutes, stop everywhere, call at Winnersh en route to Reading.

GatwickAirport to Reading

One direct train an hour, journey time around 1hour 20 minutes. Other trains involve one or two changes and take a lot longer.

Heathrow to Reading

All trains require one change, some need two, journey times generally under an hour.

Reading to Winnersh

Local trains run to Winnersh every half hour, journey time 9 minutes.

NB there is a station called Winnersh Triangle (handy for the Holiday Inn) and another called Winnersh. Winnersh Station is the one nearest to Winnersh Community Hall.

Buses

Buses run from Reading Town Centre to Winnersh Crossroads, 3 buses per hour, journey time approx 25 minutes then approx 20 minutes walk to Winnersh Community Hall.

From Winnersh Station, turn right and walk 2 minutes to Sainsbury’s. Inside, on the left just past the kiosk, is a free phone which puts you through directly to a local taxi company. Ask them to take you to Winnersh Community Hall, New Road, Sindlesham.

On foot from Winnersh Crossroads

From Winnersh Crossroads by Sainsbury’s store, walk south (slightly downhill) along King Street Lane, follow road under motorway to mini roundabout, take 2nd exit into Mole Road. Winnersh Community Hall can be seen on your left across the playing fields. The entrance is on the left before the next roundabout. On the end of the buildings is a sign “Bearwood Recreation Ground”. Follow the path to the left past the Café to the Community Hall.
