Purpose of Job
To identify players of national potential, to select a Squad of players and prepare that squad to participate within agreed preparation and participation program. To plan and deliver agreed number of preparation squad sessions delivering Key National Themes as agreed by the National Performance Development Team and provide accurate player reports on the conclusion of the program.

Key Accountabilities
- Support the preparation of the agreedCaledoniaIntegrated season plan
- Monitor agreed plans for preparation and competitions for the Caledonia Integrated Program
- Liaise with appropriate others to identify players of potential
- Liaise with appropriate others to maximise individual player improvement programmes
- Where relevant – co-operate positively with personnel from Scottish Rugby and other support agencies
- Attend appropriate meetings.

- Support the implementation of effective monitoring and evaluation systems for relevant players

Factor / Essential / DesirableQualifications & Attainments / UKCC level 2 ( or working towards)
Experience & Knowledge / Knowledge and understanding of Rugby Union
Recent and relevant performance level coaching experience.
Experience of recognising and developing individual player performance.
IT skills & experience
Confident in presenting to all levels of audience.
Track record of working effectively with partners / Health and Safety training, experience of risk assessment procedures.

Caledonia Integrated Coach Role
Initial:
- Meet Regional Academy Coaches (RAC’s) and agree program aims and objectives
- Attend relevant school & club matches / complete agreed player reports prior to selection
- In conjunction with PDM’s decide on selection criteria and selection of the relevant Squad
- Plan Program of sessions within agreed timescales and budget
- Identify potential National Players in squad
Sessions:
- Deliver effective & progressive sessions through the program
- Content of sessions to be agreed with RAC’s & lined to the agreed Key National Themes
- Monitoring of players and self through program
- Feedback to players, coaches and RAC’s
- Review and self reflect through program (with RAC’s)
- Highlight any problems or potential difficulties & identify positive solutions
Game Preparation:
- Organise and plan sessions to prepare all players to maximize their individual performance within a team environment
- Ensure agreed game principles allow all players an opportunity to promote themselves and develop
- Familiarize with agreed fixture / program protocols
- Plan and prepare pre match build up and warm up
Match day:
- Prepare players for match through pre match build up and warm up
- Observe and feedback to players / team on performance
- Cool team down and lead team through post match routine
- Attend after match dinner
- See players all away from ground
- Review of match day
Conclusion of Program:
- Self reflect
- Seek feedback from players, coaches or PDM
- Write player reports
- Attend post program debrief
