TEAM TEACHING UNIT PLAN RUBRIC

An instructional unit is a collection of lesson plans that enhance the learning of a specific theme (a weather unit, a unit on money, a unit on core democratic values). In addition to a common theme, you can integrate other curriculum areas into your unit. Writing an essay about a tornado (Language Arts), using a spreadsheet to calculate the numbers of tornados over a 3-5 year period (Math and Technology), or drawing a picture of a tornado (Art) are ways to integrate your unit of instruction. A technology rich unit of instruction means to gather content, present lessons and give students the opportunity to use technology in the construction of learning.

UNIT PLAN: Describe what students will learn from your unit (outcomes). Address 3-5 technology benchmarks. What is the THEMEfor your unit? What role does each lesson play?
What is the time frame for your unit (how long will it take?) What is your assessment?

Do you have an ANCHOR (main lesson) that is key to understanding the theme? Why is it key?

Where and how does your unit connect to (integrate with) different curriculum areas?

LESSON PLAN(S): A step by step guide for students to practice and reinforce learning with an activity. What materials or activities will you use with students? Overhead transparencies, PowerPoint slides, video clips, pictures, handouts, worksheets. Provide an actual example of the materials students will use in guided practice. How did you “hook” students? What were your entry points of learning?

ASSIGNMENT RUBRIC: How will you check for understanding? What do you expect students to do and what should you look for in the completion of your lesson? Use a table or list to divide the student practice into steps you can grade to acknowledge effort and completion of tasks.Describe your step by step sequence of instructional activities/learning events
