Dear Team Manager

Congratulations on your fantastic achievement! We are excited to hear that your team will be representing your school network at the Berkshire School Games Gymnastics event on13th March at Reddam Gymnastics Club, Bearwood Rd, Wokingham RG41 5BG. We are very grateful to Reddam Gymnastics Club and Stuart Woods for hosting this competition for us.

Stuart has also kindly devised a new format for this competition as we move away from Key Steps and toward Team Gym.

We require teams to arrive at12.15pmwith the competition ending at 15.30. On arrival please ensure your team reports to the registration table with the completed registration form attached.All teams must stay in the gymnasium at all times and not wander through the school.

Attachedis a list of items each pupil and the school should bring with them. Schools will be responsible for undertaking their normal off-site procedures for a school trip. Your SGO will be in touch with you to confirm your team’s attendance.Your registration form below MUST be returned to your SGO by 3rd March. If your school is sending a team for more than one age group please complete a separate registration form for each team.

Please note that spectators cannot be accommodated due to the nature of the venue and limited parking on site. All spectators will be turned away.

Be a role model and lead by example. Refrain from swearing and abusive language and irresponsible behaviour including behaviour that is dangerous to yourself or others. Not carry or consume alcohol and/or illegal substances.

Encourage everyone to work together to achieve their best when competing and to support each other through the day. Make friends with new people.

  • COURAGE

Ensure that all team members show sportsmanship at all times and challenge those who do not.

All partners delivering the Berkshire Schools Games are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all employees and volunteers to share this commitment.

Photo/Video Consent

Photographs and videos taken by Berkshire School Games may be used in future publicity by the organising committee and their partners (specifically Schools, School Sport Networks Get Berkshire Active, Local Authorities, Sport England, Youth Sport Trust and National Governing Bodies of Sport), either in printed publications, in media, on video and/or on websites.

Every school is responsible for ensuring they have gained consent for each individual child from their school attending the games as to whether permission is given or not given in relation to photography/videoing, you will be required to declare this on your Registration Form. This form MUST be signed by your Head Teacher.

Please note that photography/video consent is valid for five years from the date of the Games.

Every young person without consent will be given a wrist band indicating we do not have permission to take photos/videos of them.

It will be the responsibility of the Teacher/Team Manager to ensure all young people in their care without permission are wearing the wristband.

Taking photos & video

Duty of Care Guidelines for the Berkshire School Games require that we record the details of any person (including teachers and parents) who wish to use video or close range photography to record activities at the games.

We therefore request that any person wishing to take photographs at the games register their name and address when they arrive on site before carrying out any video or photography. A sticker will be issued which must be worn at all times.

Anyone refusing to comply with this policy and who continues to take photographs / video footage will be asked to leave the site.
