To Parents of the Graduating Class of 2015,

The graduation ceremony for the Class of 2015 is rapidly approaching. I know that each of you is as anxious as I am for a glorious celebration. As you are aware, the ceremony will be held at CCHS in the Gymnasium at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2015. I write this letter to ask for your support to guarantee a memorable event.

The ceremony is a celebration for families and students. It will be a distinguished event to remember for a lifetime. We have expectations for every member of the class that we know you will agree are appropriate. We ask that seniors show respect for classmates, family and friends by dressing properly for graduation. Shorts, blue jeans, tennis shoes/gym shoes, are not allowed. Girls should wear light colored dresses or nice slacks, and sandals/dress shoes. Boys should wear slacks with a white or light colored, collared shirt, and closed toe shoes. Graduates may not wear any item (other than honor cords or stoles) with or on the gown. Mortar boards if decorated, must adhere to school policy and be appropriate. Any mortar board décor must be flat and cannot extend beyond the mortar board itself. Should you have any questions regarding attire, please call me for approval ahead of time.

The graduating class will be reminded during rehearsal concerning the correct behavior and attire

that is expected of them. Commencement is a formal and dignified ceremony that may occur only once in a lifetime; dignified behavior is also expected of all guests and spectators. Excessive applause or cheering for a specific student diminishes the experience for all students and families. Please be sensitive to this fact. It is imperative that each family hear their student’s name read aloud.

This is also a reminder that all fines, fees, books, and equipment must be paid for and/or returned to Clear Creek High School by senior checkout on Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Please check the portal for your student's current balance of fees. Outstanding monies must be paid in full before a student is allowed to participate in graduation. If a senior has not met these requirements, Clear Creek School District policy requires us to withhold their diploma and participation in the graduation ceremony.

Again, we ask that you help us ensure that final memories of the school reflect the many positive achievements of the Class of 2015. Please remember Senior Recognition Night is Wednesday, May 20th at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. We ask that students follow the same guidelines in terms of clothing attire for this special evening. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Gardner
