Dear Newport Harbor Boys Lacrosse Family,
Welcome to the 2017 Lacrosse Season. I am the current Booster Club Board of Directors President and am writing you today to give you some upcoming calendar dates to mark and some information about our booster club (Crease Club).
We are all very excited to get this season kicked off and see the young men compete at the highest of levels. We have had some great success built over the past years and anticipate even more success this season. With Coach Mark Todd and his staff working with your sons’ on individual and team lacrosse skills, teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, and competition, the program will continue to succeed on many levels.
Lacrosse receives very little funding from the School District and almost all of our program’s expenses are covered through contributions and group fundraising. The costs associated with this program include player equipment, player uniforms, coaching staff, game referees, off season activities, and field supplies and equipment. To put a player onto the field each year this breaks down to over $1,100/player.
Our board of directors have worked hard to reduce all costs where possible and have been working a very realistic budget this season for the program. In order to help in order to continue and grow this program for now and into the future, we need everyone’s financial and time commitments. While not obligated, wewould like all to contributetheir fair share and best efforts were and when possible. One opportunity to help is joining our 2017 Crease Club; which I have attached the participation levels. Please review the attached and please join the Crease Club. You can mail in payment to the address provided, bring payment to our upcoming Player/Parent Meeting, or pay on-line at our website.
