This competition is for ORIGINAL AUSTRALIAN verse having good RHYME and METRE.

Poem must have [particular] theme [?]

Poems will be disqualified if they contain material or themes considered to be offensive (no refund).

The Competition is open to anyone [in Australia/world] 18 years of age and over [unless running junior classes]

Novice is someone who has never won (first place in) any written bush poetry competition before.

Entries must be your own work and have not been placed first in any written competition prior to the date of announcement of results / closing date of … Entrants must notify the organisers if one of their entries wins another competition before the announcement of results /closing date (insert date).

Entries must not have been previously published for the profit of the author.

Closing Date for competition entries: It is recommended that the closing date be the post-mark of the entry rather than the date of its receipt and that a minimum of six weeks be allowed between the post-mark date and the announcement date.

Late entries will not / may be accepted at the organisers’ discretion.

A4 size pages should be used keeping each entry separate, using one side of the paper only.

Entries should be typed where possible using a standard 12 point font (Times Roman, Century, Arial, Verdana) using double line spacing with 2 double returns between each verse.

Entries must not contain coloured type, graphics, pictures, photographs or other embellishments.

Name of entrant must not appear on the poem, only on the entry form.

Send [two/three] copies of each poem with the name of poem and page number on each page.

Entries will be / will not be accepted by email [name of contact and email address]. Full payment is still required.

Poems will not /may not be returned.

Payment of the full amount of entry fees must accompany all entries.

No refunds if entries do not qualify/fit criteria.

Where a significant discrepancy in scores occurs, organisers may privately approach the dissenting judge seeking confirmation that this was that judge’s intended result and that there have been no transcription errors.

The judge’s decision will be final and no further correspondence will be entered into.

Highly commended and commended certificates will be awarded at the organisers’ discretion.

If results are required by post there will be an additional charge of $00 to cover postage and handling. Results will be posted within 10 days after the completion of the Championships. [or send stamped, self-addressed DL/C4 sized envelope with entry]
