  • Model customer sites and references
  • Future directions in IP Telephony that we should be aware of in our planning

Section II:(Estimated 30-45 minutes)

The proposed package consists of equipment and services to support an IP Telephony pilot. Please provide a proposal that identifies costs for the purchase and installation of the following equipment, include a time and material cost for Consulting and Engineering services to implement this pilot.

  • IP Call Mgr Server(s)
  • 25-50 IP phone devices
  • Gateway to PSTN to provide DID routing traffic for IP based extensions (in/out)
  • Equipment to support analog phones in an IP only network
  • QSIG link communications media equipment to provide PBX network integration
  • ConferenceBridge to provide conference capability
  • Provide IP centric survivability feature set capability
  • Provide IP based call pattern alert notification services (email, pager, SMS, audio broadcast)

Optional:

  • Services platform to support hosting add-on software enabled custom feature capabilities (Call Center ACD, IVR, XML Apps)

Section III:(Estimated 45-60 minutes)

Propose 2-3 network design options for a Maricopa wide IP Telephony implementation.

  • Centralized
  • Fully distributed
  • Regional

Assume in your proposal a survivable implementation that would enable college to college failover capabilities.Emphasize which option you are recommending.

Section IV:(Estimated 90-120 minutes)

In this section would like to hear your companies competitive advantages for product features comparing Cisco and NEC IP products. Please clarify if any of these features require additional equipment and services that are not included in the pilot package.

Network Mgt and IP device configuration

Description of technical capabilities, / Requirements to support these features / Additional costs not included in pilot package
Configure IP phone devices
Call traffic reporting
SIP device support
Management interface for troubleshooting call traffic and routing paths
Server and IP device level security
Alarm threshold notification (mail, pager, SMS, etc)

Demo scenario: Demonstrate how an IP call connection would survive during network interruptions. Show the effect of network performance and latency factors that would impact sound quality and the management interfaces that would be used to troubleshoot this type of a problem.

Convergence and unified messenging capabilities:

Description of technical capabilities, / Requirements to support these features / Additional costs not included in pilot package
Conferencing capabilities (audio & video)
Messenging integration (voice mail, email)
Bridged group conferencing
Integration with existing voice mail using IP based phones
IP device mobility (PDA, Laptop, Cell phone)

Demo scenario: Demonstrate conferencing capabilities that would enable multiple IP devices to participate in a conference scenario with or without video enhancement.
