Fresher’s Angel: Role Description

What does a Fresher’s Angel do?

  • Help new students move in and introduces them to life at the University.
  • Promote a positive image of the University and the Students’ Union.
  • Act as a guide, mentor and friend to new students.
  • Enjoy themselves!

What is expected of a Fresher’s Angel?

  • To listen and follow instructions given to them by their executive officer team, team leaders and Beds SU staff.
  • To attend Fresher’s Angels training.
  • To be available and flexible with their time over the period of Fresher’s.
  • To behave appropriately.
  • To be enthusiastic and friendly.
  • Not to promote events that clash with Beds SU events during the Fresher’s period.

What are a Fresher’s Angels main duties?

  • To help new students move their belongings into their rooms
  • To be available to answer questions about university life, signpost students and provide tours.
  • Visit student accommodation/halls of residence in teams to encourage as many people as possible to attend to the Students’ Union events.

Fresher’s Angels training will take place on:

-Luton Campus: Wednesday 14th and Thursday15th of September

-Bedford Campus: Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd of September

-UCMK: Wednesday 7th of September

ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY ON BOTH DAYS AT LUTON, BEDFORD AND UCMK.

Fresher’s Angels are expected to volunteer their time frequently from:
