/ LONGFORD COUNTY COUNCIL / IRISH WATER

Note regarding procedure for connections from 1st Jan 2014

From 1st January 2014 all applications for connections will be made to Longford County Council who will access the application and forward it to Irish Water. Irish Water will then invoice the customer, collect payment for the connection and notify Longford County Council to issue a licence for the works.

Please note the following:

  1. The combined application form for road opening /water, sewer licence has been discontinued. It is now necessary to make a separate application for a road opening licence.
  2. The process of using a contractor from the approved contractors list will continue as before.
  3. Longford County Council will issue a licence and oversee the works as normal.
  4. The cost of the road opening and connection fee will not change.
  5. The above procedure will operate for an interim period until Irish Water agree a national connection charge with the regulator.
