1. Needs:
The project will establish accurate, verifiable population figures for the number of displaced people, their characteristics and locations.
Most standards and indicators use population figures as denominators so having reliable population data is essential for almost all programme planning and advocacy activities. Having a demographic profile of communities assists humanitarian actors and the government in providing services that target specific groups, such as the elderly, children, youth, women and men.
2. Activities:
• CollectData (Mention methodology ex:household level data through surveys with representative samples from IDPs living in host communities and camps).
• Analyze the datasets in order to create a demographic profile of the displaced population including gender and age breakdown.
• Share this data with the interagency community and government actors in order to improve humanitarian interventions broadly.
• Identification of specific information in these sectors (choose between, cause of displacement, patterns of displacement, protection concerns, humanitarian needs, potential solution for group or individual if available; be precise, for ex: numbers of IDPs with specific needs (PWSNs), including person with disabilities, older person, unaccompanied/separated children).
3. Outcomes:
• Humanitarian and government actors are provided with comprehensive understanding of the characteristics of the IDP communities, including their locations, allowing these actors to better prioritize response capacities.
• Physical protection of IDPs is improved.
• Advocacy and protection activities are coordinated with other actors and delivered actively
• Enhanced knowledge, skills and response capacity of the government authorities, civil societies and IPs to collaborate and respond to protection needs with special attention to vulnerable group or groups at risk.
• Presence of specific needs identified ( related to the above-mentioned cause of displacement, patterns of displacement, protection concerns, humanitarian needs, potential solution for group or individual if available) and geographic areas are prioritized for community level programming intervention.
