CHE 451 / CSC 492 / FS 475 Teaming, Writing, and Speaking Consultations Spring 2003

Dr. Naomi Kleid – e-mail: and

Your team has been selected to receive four consultations during the Spring 2003 semester. Each consultation, lasting between 75 and 90 minutes, will focus on tasks that you are currently required to complete, such as team communication and planning, report writing and editing, and presentation preparation and delivery. I am your consultant, and I will make every effort to meet with you during your normal team meeting times and to be available when you feel a consultation would be beneficial. Your team should start by having one person send an e-mail to the consultant to schedule the first consultation meeting, which needs to take place within the next week or two.

Please see below for an outline of possible consultation topics.

Consultation Meeting 1

Topics covered:

(1)Teamwork (identifying needed skills, setting ground rules, establishing priorities, negotiating)

(2)Writing (editing your own work)

(3)Team-generated topics.

What to bring:

(1) Your thoughts on “ground rules” for your team interactions.

(2) Copies of the phase report your team is in the process of writing (one copy for each team member plus two copies for the consultant).
