RICHMOND STRIKERS – ADULT LEAGUE
REGISTRATION: All registrations will be completed on-line at A team is not considered registered for the league until at least 9 players have registered and selected the specific team. All teams must have a minimum of 10 players registered by the registration deadline. If a team does not have 10 players registered by the deadline, the league administrator will add players to the team to reach a maximum of 14 players on the roster. These players will be those who have registered without a specific team request. If there are no players available to add to the team to reach a minimum of 12 players, the team will not be added to the league for the season, and those players who have made payment will have their money refunded if there is no team on which to place them.
Each team must ultimately have a minimum of 12 players who are paid for and properly registered to be considered registered for the league.
ROSTERS: Rosters will be verifiedby the referee prior to each game. It is the responsibility of the team captain to provide a current roster to the referee prior to the game. No match will be played without the referee verifying the roster. If the name is not on the official roster, the player will not be allowed to play. Please have picture identification available at each game. For those teams in middle school or high school leagues, a player pass will be given to each player to be presented to the referee prior to each game.
SCHEDULING: Teams typically play 1 to 2 games per week. During the summer a third game may be required if a cancellation has occurred due to weather, field availability etc. The majority of make-up games will be played on Friday evenings.
Matches that are cancelled due to weather or any other circumstance may be rescheduled for days other than the normal days of play, however that will be avoided if possible. Any games which are ended early due to weather or any other circumstance, shall be rescheduled (from the start) if the game was ended prior to the 2nd half kickoff. If the game is called during the 2nd half, the game will be declared over and the result will stand as of that time.
The team captain may request a certain bye week. This request must be submitted prior to the registration deadline. While not guaranteed, every effort will be made to accommodate the request. Only one request will be accepted per team per season.
Once the schedule is posted, there will be no changes to the schedule based on team requests. Games will be rescheduled based only in the following circumstances: weather, field conditions, field availability, community activities, or any instance in which the Richmond Strikers deems a game unplayable.
GAME RULES: All games will be played in conformance with FIFA/USSF Laws and the following:
LAW I – Field of Play
- Goals will be 8’ high and 24’ wide
- Field dimension: approximately 60 yards long by 40 yards wide
LAW II – Ball
- Size 5 soccer ball will be used
LAW III – Number of Players
- The format of play is 7v7. Therefore, a match shall be played by two teams consisting of not more than seven players (6 field players and a goalkeeper)
- Minimum number of players to begin a game is five players. The game will not be delayed awaiting players. If there are not enough players to begin the game within 5 minutes of the scheduled start time, the game will be forfeited.
- Substitutions may be done at the midfield line and at any stoppage of play, but the player to be substituted must come off the field first. Team Captains are responsible for substitutions.
LAW IV – Players Equipment
A. No casts will be allowed
B. Shin guards are to be worn by all players. Players without shin guards will not be allowed to participate.
LAW V – Referees
- There will be one official for each game
LAW VI – Duration of game
- The game will consist of two 25-minute halves
- There will be a 5 minute halftime break
- The clock will not stop for goals
LAW VII – Start of Play
- All games will start at the scheduled time. Delays will not be tolerated. If a team is not ready to play within five minutes after start time, they shall forfeit the game. Overtime periods will not be played.
- Game will start with kickoff at center mark.
- After each goal, the game will restart from the center mark
LAW XI – Offside
- There is no offside
LAW XII – Fouls and Misconduct
A. All FIFA laws apply with the following clarification
1. For any caution, a player will sit out two minutes (leaving his/her team shorthanded)
2. A player may receive two yellow cards before he/she has to leave the game. On the second yellow card, the player will have to leave the game, resulting in a five minute penalty (red card).
3. Any player receiving a red card must leave the game. That team will play shorthanded for the full five minutes.
4. Any player receiving two red cards will be barred from further play in the season.
5. Foul language is not allowed during the game or in the vicinity of the fields. A yellow card is to be given for the first offense, and a straight-red card will be given for any subsequent offense.
LAW XIII – Free Kick
- Encroachment distance shall be eight yards
- A free kick from within a team’s own penalty area may not cross the mid-field line without first touching the ground or a player on either team. Infraction results in an indirect free kick for the opposing team at the spot where the ball crossed the midfield line.
LAW XIV – Penalty Kick
- No change
LAW XVI – Goal Kick
- A goal kick may not cross the mid-field line without first touching the ground or a player on either team. Infraction results in an indirect free kick for the opposing team at the spot where the ball crossed the midfield line.
GOALKEEPER:
Goalkeepers will not be allowed to punt or drop-kick the ball. They must throw the ball to place it in play. No throw may cross the mid-field line without first touching the ground or a player on either team. Infraction results in an indirect free kick for the opposing team at the spot where the ball crossed the mid-field line.
Five seconds rule will be in effect for goalkeeper to release the ball.
GUEST PLAYERS:
Guest players are not allowed in summer league games. A player registered for summer league and on another summer league roster within the league, may play for another team; however the team utilizing such a player will forfeit the game. At absolutely no time is a player who is not rostered on a summer league team allowed to participate in any summer league game.
If a team is found to be utilizing a non-rostered player, the listed captain of the team will be suspended for one game. In addition, if this happens a second time during the season, the captain will be suspended from all future adult league games.
NO SLIDE TACKLES ARE ALLOWED! Infractions will result in a yellow card being given with the team playing down a man for two minutes.
SUPPLEMENTAL REGULATIONS:
Fair play and sportsmanship always.
Alcohol is not allowed on the property before, during or after summer league games. Violations will result in the player being suspended from participating in future summer league games.

Park in designated parking areas only.
Animals are not allowed on club property.
Please leave the field after your game. Gates will be locked 15 minutes after the final match is completed. Please do not leave your car in the parking lot. The gates must be locked after the last game and your car will be left inside.
Only registered paid players are allowed to participate.
Each team should have a game ball available.
Playing and/or warming up on an adjacent field is prohibited.
Please pitch in. Pick up after yourselves and place your trash in appropriate receptacles.
No unsupervised children please.
Please understand that the Richmond Strikers Club is a family club, and we expect the behavior of our players and spectators to be acceptable in a family setting. We do not allow any foul language to be used in Striker Park. Please understand that the Richmond Strikers consider words that would not be acceptable for a young child to use to be considered foul language.
