General Information

  • EFA/EIA in PowerSchool – EFA/EIA start dates are the first day the student was in the district. There will be two scenarios when there will be more than one line of history.
  1. If the EFA/EIA code changes at some time during the school year.
  2. If the student leaves the district at some point during the school year.
  • DCIS weekly reports
  • March SASI meeting – March 16, 2010
  • After school programs – State/Province-SC: District Items and maintain rosters
  • IEP Transportation
  • Early Childhood atom – make sure that if you get any new 4K students at your school that you are remembering to fill in the Early Childhood atom information and DIAL 3 scores for them
  • DEADLINE – May 3, 2010 - Work Based Learning – entered as the information is received

First Day of Testing

Make sure that all students that have left your school are withdrawn from PowerSchool before the end of the day on the First Day of Testing for HSAP or PASS.

  • PASS First Day of Testing: Writing portion – March 16, 2010
  • HSAP First Day of Testing – April 20, 2010
  • PASS First Day of Testing – May 11, 2010

QDC3/135th Day upload – March 18, 2010-April 8, 2010

We will begin uploading information to SDE on March 8th in preparation for QDC3

  • Extract and email files by 12:00 noon, March 19, 2010

After changes are made, files will be emailed and uploaded again

  • Early Childhood Atom – all fields for 4K students ONLY (including Countdown to Kindergarten field) – 4K teachers
  • DIAL3-S1 scores – (Extended Test History atom) – 4K students ONLY – 4K teachers

  • Alt Sch Prog (SC Supplemental atom) – any student that has attended DCIS for 2 weeks or more must be coded Y in this field – once a student has been labeled Y in this field, that Y remains for the remainder of the year – even if they return to their home school

SC01 EFA/EIA Data Verification – you will get errors on this report if you changed the student’s EFA start date to reflect the first day the student was at your school if they were previously at another school in the district. This start date will need to be edited to reflect the student’s enrollment date in the district for this year.

Points to Remember about Schedules

  • When dropping a class, you can’t just go to All Enrollments and change the date. If you do that, the student will still show up in the teacher’s PowerTeacher gradebook. You MUST go to Modify Schedule and drop the class.
  • If a student still has a current schedule (even if they are inactive or a no show student), they will still show up in the teacher’s PowerTeacher gradebook. You MUST go to Modify Schedule and drop the class.
  • When dropping a class, if you get the message about orphan attendance, please refer to the Snippet called Modify Student Schedules and follow the steps to remove the attendance.
