Training Course on Greenhouse Gas Reduction and Energy Transformation
INFORMATION BROCHURE
Entrusted by National Development and Reform Commission of People’s Republic of China, National Research Institute for Rural Electrification, Ministry of Water Resources (NRIRE) of P. R. China, is going to undertake the Training Course on Greenhouse Gas Reduction and Energy Transformation during 18 Oct. - 31 Oct. 2017 in Hangzhou, P. R. China.
I. Objectives: The training course aims to share China’s successful experience and proven expertise of Greenhouse Gas Reduction and Energy Transformation by means of presentation, field visit, forum reporting and discussions. The participants are expected to understand the macro planning and policies for fighting against climate change and improve the technical know-how of renewable energy development including small hydropower, solar energy, wind power, biomass energy and etc. in China, as well as energy transformation trend for the purpose of greenhouse gas reduction.

III. Venue: Hangzhou, Zhejiang, P. R. China
IV. Working Language: English
V. Programs:
1. Lectures including China’s policies and measures for overcoming the climate change, and proven practice and approaches for greenhouse gas reduction and energy transformation;
2. Field visits to be organized for trainees to get a better knowledge about how to effectively overcome climate change and how to develop renewable energy projects to mitigate the impact of climate change and reduce the greenhouse gas;
3. Forums through which participants from all the participating countries could exchange information and ideas on climate change, greenhouse gas reduction and energy development in their countries and conduct in-depth discussions on multilateral and bilateral cooperation.
VI. Qualification and Requirements for Participants:
1. Working in the fields related to the mitigation of climate change;
2. Be healthy, not infectious and fully able for daily life activities. Available with the health certificate issued by a public hospital or an approved healthy institution;
3. Capable of listening, speaking, reading, writing of the training language;
4. Willing to obey the related laws and regulations during the stay in China;
5. Willing to prepare a country report on climate change mitigation and energy development of their countries, which will be shared among participants and submitted to the organizer.
VII. Funds:
1. National Development and Reform Commission of P. R. China will bear the expense including international air ticket, training fee, food, accommodation, transportation and a pocket money of RMB 80 yuan per person per day during the training;
VIII. Application and Approval:
1. Applicants who want to attend the training workshop need to fill up the Application Form and then submit it to the organizer;
2. The organizer will evaluate the Application Form and inform the enrolled candidates by issuing the Admission Notice.
