Dear parents/guardians,
Thank you parents for attending our parent-teacher conferences these last two days. If you did not get to conference with your child’s teacher, and you would like to, please call the office and/or get in touch with the teacher to make those arrangements. We passed out PARCC test scores at back to school night and parent-teacher conferences. If you did not receive them either of these nights, we will be mailing them to you this week. Also, parents/guardians just a friendly reminder if your child needs a note at the end of the day, make sure to call the office by 3:15 p.m. After 3:15 there is no guarantee that we will have time to get the message to the classroom/child.
We have many activities coming up in the next two weeks before we have our Fall Break the week of October 9th. We will be finishing up our 7th/8th Football and Volleyball season next week. The District Volleyball Tournament will be held this Saturday, September 30th at Delta Middle School. Good luck girls!
Our 6th graders will be going to Camp Cedaredge next week from October 4th-October 6th. Parents please make sure
that your child has all the information and what to pack for the trip, as they will leave on Wednesday morning.
On Friday, October 6th we are going to have a fundraiser for Megan Collins and her family (Caleb-3rd, Gabe-5th) who lost their home due to a fire earlier this month. So wear your hat all day on Friday and pay your teacher $1.00. We will give all proceeds to Megan and her family!
We will be recognizing students with perfect attendance for September on Wednesday, October 4th. Students with perfect attendance will have an ice cream celebration sponsored by Horace Mann Insurance. Students will receive a ticket for each month that they have perfect attendance and that ticket will be put in a drawing at the end of the year for a Kindle Fire. We will have one winner for K-5 and one winner for 6th-8th graders. So the more months you have perfect attendance the better your chances. Thank you for making your child’s attendance a priority at school, because without them in attendance our teachers can’t teach!!

Thursday, September 28th: 7th/8th Football vs. Delta, all games will be at Paonia Town Park at
4:00/5:00 p.m., bus at 2:45 p.m.
Friday, September 29th: 7th-8th Grade Student Council Elections in the Don Tate Gym at 3:05 p.m.
Saturday, September 30th: 7th/8th Grade Delta County Volleyball Tournament at DMS, all day!!
Bus will leave HK8 at 7:45 a.m.
Wednesday, October 4th: 9:00 a.m.-6th graders leave for Camp Cedaredge
3:00 p.m.-September Perfect Attendance Ice Cream Celebration in front of the office.
3:30 p.m.-7th/8th Volleyball and Football Pictures with IHS Photography
Thursday, October 5th: 6th Graders at Camp Cedaredge
7th/8th Football vs. Olathe, all games will be played at Paonia Town Park 4:00/5:00 p.m., bus at 2:45 p.m.
Friday, October 6th: 6th Graders return from Camp Cedaredge at 3:00 p.m.
Wear your “HAT” Day and pay $1.00. All proceeds to benefit

Monday, October 9th: Columbus Day – NO SCHOOL
Monday October 9th - Friday, October 13th
