COUNCIL TAX SUPPORT GRANT 2017/18 FOR GROUPED PARISH COUNCIL – The grant stands at £116 and the tax base is £248.23. The Council will not receive Revenue Support Grant from the Government in 2018/19. / 7.55 p.m.

OTHER FINANCIAL MATTERS: The following Financial matters were discussed:
WARSILL BUS SHELTER: Cllr Mr Baker reported that the Warsill Bus Shelter was again inneed of a clean up. Cllr T Shepherd apologised for not having time to clean the Bus Shelter due to pressure of work. / 8.05 p.m.

(a) / HIGHWAYS & TRANSPORTATION MATTERS:
FOUNTAINS ROAD/WARSILL GRATES etc – Cllr Mr Baker read an e-mail from Ms Flowers from NYCC Highways stating that the grates had been inspected and an order to repair has been sent to NYCC’s contractors. Cllr Mr Baker also reported that a number of potholes on the road to Warsill have been repaired and the road will be resurfaced in 2018/19. He wished to express his thanks to NYCC’s.
WHITE ROAD MARKINGS COLBER LANE AND WEST GROVE -Councillors acknowledged receipt of an e-mail from NYCC Highways stating that the Highways Officers had inspected the white lines and ‘Slow’ markings on Colber Lane and West Grove and raised an order for the requested work to be undertaken. It is however unlikely that the lining work will be started until Spring due to the high failure rate of the lining process in winter months.
COUNTY CLLR MR M HARRISON’S REPORT – Councillors heard from County Cllr Mr Harrison about the revised road relief and bi-pass schemes for Harrogate and Killinghall and the ways NYCC are restricted when attempting to claim money funding from the Government. He also explained the route of the forthcoming Tour de Yorkshire as the last part of the second stage will pass through Bishop Thornton and Shaw Mills.
DISTRICT CLLR MR N HULL REPORT – Councillors heard from District Cllr Mr Hull that he had just come from a meeting at BurntYatesSchool where they were told that the School has been placed into Special Measures and as a result faced imminent closer.
OTHER HIGHWAYS, TRANSPORTATION AND RIGHTS OF WAY MATTERS etc:
BISHOP THORNTON POST BOX, ON GREEN ADJACENT TO WEST GROVE - Cllr Mrs Watt informed the meeting that the Post Box on the Green adjacent to West Grove, Bishop Thornton was in a deplorable state, covered in lichen and moss and is in need of a clean. / 8.32p.m.

12 / DATE OF NEXT MEETING:There being no further business the Chairman closed the meeting at 8.35 pm and called the next Ordinary meeting for 7.30pm on Thursday 24th February in Bishop Thornton CE School, Bishop Thornton.
