Treasurer’s Report: Read and accepted on a motion pending audit.
License Applications: Some have been turned in. Other services have not received them yet. Mark Podgwaite sent an email prior to meeting outlining a plan for those who haven’t received them yet.
OLD BUSINESS
Communications Progress: No progress noted.
MCI Planning: No date set for next meeting. Deb Bach will call Jessica Stolz about setting up another meeting.
District Training: Distributed a sheet regarding a training that Deb Bach brought in. Michael Wright spoke about a poison control training that is being put on by the district. This will cover topics including bath salts, synthetic marijuana and prescription drugs. This will be held November 16th at 7pm.
Intermediate Refresher: Starting November 3rd, and will run Tuesdays and Thursdays, ending on November 22nd. It is free, and see the District website for details. Send an email to Michael Wright if you plan on taking the course.
Basic Class: Looking for an early January start date.
Other Trainings: “Neurology for the non-nuerologist” in Portland, Maine. Also, Groton is putting on a fire rehabilitation training on October 22nd.
District Policies: No known progress. It was suggested that we need to re-establish committees to clarify membership.
Waterford Trailer Title: Has been located. A motion was made by Anthony and seconded by Natalie to keep the title of the vehicle with the agency that is housing the vehicle. Motion passed.
QI/QA: SIREN doesn’t seem to be solving the problem regarding the state recommendations. There will be a meeting for a representative from each transporting agency and one member of a non-transporting agency on October 19th at 8:30am at NVRH. The member from the non-transporting agencies is Jon Augeri from Walden.
Mini-MCI: There was no reported progress. Jerry suggested a date of Sunday, October 30th for the event. Michael Wright will work with him regarding scenarios and setting it up.
NEW BUSINESS
Leadership Call: Unknown if it actually occurred or not.
Code 3 Transports: Deb Bach read a letter from the District 6 medical advisor. Discussed the issue at great length about unnecessary Code 3 transports and responses. Michael Wright will gather information about response statistics, and a recommendation will possibly stem from the QI/QA meeting.
Special Calls: Discussed calls that the caller/complainant is requesting special considerations (i.e. requesting that the first responder service not be dispatched, no lights/sirens, etc.)
Newbury EMS: Discussed an issue regarding scope of practice question between Newbury EMS and Woodsville Ambulance. Will hopefully clarify with the state and/or Dr Baker.
Next meeting will be November 7, 2011 at 6:30pm at NVRH.
Meeting was adjourned by Deb Bach at 7:35pm.
