The “Blue Ace” Update
(Best viewed in HTML format….avoid Plain Text!)
“Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.”—Robert Louis Stevenson♠ Message from Mr. Bernath—I want to thank each of you for the preparation your students showed for the start of school. I am sure some needed a nudge or two at home to get their notebooks ready, summer reading finished, etc. Mr. Durst, the school counselors and I have spent this week visiting freshmen and senior English classes to get students registered into their Moodle sites. We will finish up with sophomore and junior classes next week, and Moodle will be online for all GHS students starting Wednesday. For a brief intro into what Moodle is, click here. It is a YouTube video made by a teacher in California, and much of what he describes will be used in various classes this year. Students can log in to GHS Moodle by going to www.blueaces.org. I have encouraged them to share their Moodle usernames and passwords with you, as students can get their assignments for a course at a minimum on each teacher’s Moodle page.
Wednesday, August 31, is Open House night at GHS. We will start at 6:30 pm, and parents will follow their student’s schedule. The open house format and map of GHS was mailed home in August, and we will have extra copies available that evening. Be sure to bring your child’s schedule to the Open House night. Teachers will spend 15 minutes with each group of parents, going over class expectations along with a brief overview of the curriculum. Please join us for all or part of the evening!
The access date for the PIV (ProgressBook) for GHS will be Monday, September 12. We will mail PIV access codes home to parents and students prior to September 9, so please be on the lookout for that information. All PIV access codes will be new, grades K-12.
Enjoy your weekend, and go Blue Aces!
Ryan Bernath, GHS Principal
