Class of 2017 Graduation Candidates
Attention all who will graduate with the Class of 2017:
This information pertains to you. It is your responsibility to see that each of these tasks is completed correctly and on time if you want to be included in the senior section of the yearbook. The yearbook and the newspaper operate independently of one another, so please read each set of requirements carefully.
Yearbook Senior Section Requirements and Dates
Pictures for the senior section of the yearbook must be submitted to Mrs. Medley no later than October 31, 2016.
Submit in JPEG format in actual size (NOT COMPRESSED) through email, flash drive, or disk.
NO DROP BOXES will be accepted; please tell your photographer this information!
Any picture smaller than actual size will affect the image’s quality in the yearbook.
If you or your photographer chooses to email the picture, please send as actual size.
Facebook pictures do not print well with our current publishing program.
The j-peg may be brought in on a disk, flash drive, or e-mailed to
If you submit a “hard copy” of your picture (actually bring in a picture), the picture cannot be larger than 8 x 10 for scanning and copying purposes. Names should be written on the back of the senior picture. Do not press down as you write your name; pressing down will result in having “words” on the front of your picture. Don’t use ink that will smudge. You will need to submit your picture in a self-addressed envelope as well.
Late pictures will be accepted through November 22, 2016provided you have discussed the arrangements with Mrs. Medley and pay a $10 late fee.
If you cannot or do not wish to use a hired photographer but want to be included in the senior section, it is your responsibility to make arrangements.
You may use the school pictures that will be taken in August as your senior picture, get a friend or family member to take your picture, or see Mrs. Medley if you need help finding another solution. You will need to indicate your choice on your senior sheet.
Please be sure that the camera used has a high resolution so that your picture looks great!
If you choose not to be in the senior section, you will need to sign a refusal form. Staff members will approach you with these forms after October 31, 2016. If you know you don’t want to be recognized in the senior section, please submit the refusal form before October 31, 2016.
School Picture Day
Even if you submit a senior picture, you will need to take a picture on the school picture day. The purpose of taking this school day picture is for identification on Infinite Campus. Seniors are reminded that these school pictures are on every transcript sent out for you.
Newspaper Requirements
Pictures given to the yearbook will be used in the newspaper section. Please remember that The Anderson News uses both the senior picture and the baby picture in the graduation section. We will submit those for you if you have given them to Mrs. Medley by the due date.
Baby pictures should be submitted to Mrs. Medley by October 31, 2016. The preferred method of submission is either electronically OR on a flash drive or disk. Be sure to scan and save your picture. Electronic submission is recommended due because baby pictures are priceless, and parents do not want to lose these!! They also must be submitted in j-peg format. The j-peg is recommended to be at least 500 pixels; please remember anything smaller can affect the quality of the image in publication. The j-peg may be brought in on a disk, flash drive, or e-mailed to
If you submit a “hard copy” of your picture, please bring them to Mrs. Medley with a self-addressed envelope that can be used to return your pictures. Names should be written on the back of the baby picture. Please do not press down as you write your name; doing so will result in having “words” on the front of your picture. Also, don’t use ink that will smudge. If you want your baby picture returned to you, please pick it up from Mrs. Medley. Retrieving this picture is the responsibility of the senior.
Senior Activity Sheets
Activity sheets for the senior section of the yearbook must be submitted to Mrs. Medley by October 31, 2016. Please note that if you do not have a picture for the senior section, you will not have your name or activities listed in this section of the yearbook. If your senior activity sheet isn’t turned in by this date, you will not have activities listed with your picture. Unfortunately, there is no late extension on the activity sheets as the yearbook staff will begin the typing process. Instead, we will only list your name the way it appears on school records. Seniors will receive the activity sheets on the school picture day scheduled for August 31, 2016.
Siblings Sheet
If you and your sibling want to be included in the sibling pages, please complete and submit the Siblings Form. Return the form to Mrs. Medley by October 31, 2016. If your form isn’t submitted on time, you probably will not appear in the senior and sibling section. The yearbook staff can take your picture, or you can submit a picture of your and your sibling(s). Siblings forms will be distributed on the school picture day scheduled for August 31, 2016.
Senior Superlative Nomination Sheets
Members of the senior class will receive Senior Superlative nomination sheets from Mrs. Medley in either September or October.
Mr. and Miss Anderson
Mr. and Miss Anderson are selected by the Faculty and Staff. If you are nominated, the yearbook staff will notify you and have a group shot taken of you for inclusion in the yearbook.
