Work Experience: Oil field experience (more than 2 year)

Halliburton Company (Sperry sun) Mud Logger, Data engineer, Geologist

(4-February-12 – present)

Overall responsibility

o  Working in deep exploration and production wells as Mud Logger, Data engineer and Geologist for Oxy Oman in Mukhazinah, Safa, Habibah, Khamilah and Wadi Al-Hitham and for Mol Oman in Al-Batinha, Wadi Al-Hwasinah.

o  Mud logging is a service that qualitatively and quantitatively obtains data from drilled rocks.

o  Making observations of drilled rocks, drilling fluids and drilling parameters in order to formulate and display concepts of the optional, in situ characteristics of formations rocks with the primary goal of delineating hydrocarbon “shows” worthy of testing. The mud logging unit is the information center on the rig site to serve both exploration and drilling.

o  In order to monitor drilling parameters, we are dealing with tow types of sensors: 1- digital sensors such as depth wheel, stroke counter and digital RPM. 2- Analog sensors such as Hook load, stand pipe pressure (SPP), Torque (electrical & mechanical) and etc.

o  Dealing with very important sensor in rig site Gas Trap. The mud trap assembly comprises an electric motor, impeller and trap chamber. 110 volt power is supplied to the motor from the unit and the wattage used is monitored to indicate the status of the trap in the mud.

o  Working on INSITE software including IRIS- Insite data acquisition application and ADI. IRIS interfaces the rig sensors with INSITE applications. IRIS hardware comprises of at least three Measurement Systems Ltd Datascan units arranged in a “stack”. Datascans have been in use within Sperry for some time and provide a reliable means of collecting data from a distributed sensor array such as that found on a rig.

o  Comprehensive experience about exploration and development rigs for example their components, operations, drilling and well problems, casing and etc.

o  Good experience in MWD (measurement while drilling), MWD systems can take several measurements such as Gamma Ray, compass direction (shown as azimuth), tool face (the direction that your bit is pointing), borehole pressure, temperature, vibration, shock, torque, etc. The MWD also provides the means of communication for operating rotary steering tools (RSTs ).

Field Experience:

o  Final year project working on X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). A quantitative spectroscopic technique that measures the elemental composition, empirical formula, chemical state and electronic state of the elements that exist within a material. E.g. Carbon, Oxygen, pure oil, Aluminum and etc.

o  Each course has field study in different geological areas in Oman. Geology of Oman course is a pure field study consisted of nine field trips in order to examine the geological order of Oman sequence, starting from pre-cambrian rocks to tertiary.

Skills and Abilities:

Management Skills

o  Excellent & effective team management skills.

o  Ability to overcome challenges & achieve objectives successfully.

Capabilities:

o  Make the best decision at the best time and place using analytical and strategic decision making techniques.

o  Doing Multitasks in short period.

o  Understand and solve complex problems.

o  Flexible to move across departments.
