It is with great pleasure, and a lot of hard work by Skip and Dennis, that I announce that the pier roof contract has been awarded to Kraftwerks Sheet Metal & Slate, Inc.They will begin construction the week of June 7th.It will take approximately 4 to 7 days to complete the work. Please keep clear of the pier area while they are working, their safety and yours.
The Harbor and the Grounds committees are working hard to spruce up the community properties. Thanks to all that volunteer.
Community House Committee
Suzanne Cooley,
The community house continues to be enjoyed by those who have and are renting it. There are a few open dates in May. Remember, just because you have a reservation does not mean you have a confirmation. Confirmation of your rental date demands that you provide us with a signed contract, insurance information and the cost of the rental. This should be done as soon as you reserve your date. If these 3 items are not provided, we will assume you no longer need the date reserved. Also, if you call and leave a message, remember to leave your phone number to make it easier to reach you. Have a wonderful spring!
Volunteers are needed for inspecting the community house after events. Even if you can volunteer only a few times a year, it would be appreciated.

It’s here, it’s here, it’s finally here!! Spring always brings out our neighbors and gives us a chance to reconnect.
The grounds committee has been busily working to beautify the community grounds. We recently built 5 very sturdy, good looking planters to beautify the marina area and to protect the light poles around the harbor. Many thanks for the coordinated effort in planning, labor, and neighborhood support that went into this project. My sincere appreciation to Jim Zsiga, Jim Babbitt, Jim Foster, Marvin McFiren, Buford Roland, John Petro, Skip Miano, Marjorie Hegge, Sheryl Bergman, Ellen Mayes, and Cathy Macco.
Also, thank you to those helping to spread the wood chips near the handicapped parking area: Chris and John Jensen, Mary Jane McCarthy and Marvin McFiren.
Here’s another opportunity to make Cedarhurst shine! Our annual spring clean-up and beautification day, Saturday April 26 at 9 AM.
We will beautify the community grounds in one day, so we need lots of help. A few days in advance, playground mulch and sand, garden mulch and topsoil, and plants will be delivered. We will work on the playground and gardens, plant the planters, and perform general clean-up duties. Students needing community volunteer hours for school graduation are welcome to join in!
Meet at the community house to sign up for a working area. Lunch will be served.

Thanks to all who assisted us on harbor work day.We removed some old, unsafe finger piers and replaced several with new, good- looking piers.Of course, there is still more to do. We will try to organize another morning, soon, to finish a couple of outstanding issues.Lets plan on May 24th to get together in the morning.
The lock has been changed and some of us are ready to start fishing and sailing. Please remember all your safety equipment, flares, PFDs, radio, extra water, and such.
We have several new slip holders this year, already. Please stop and introduce yourself if you see someone new.If you haven't sent in your slip fees, ask yourself "why knot?"It's the right thing to do.If I need to, I will start renting out slips not yet paid for.
With the price of fuel where it is, please do not leave gas cans on your boat where they might "grow legs".Get a locking gas cap for your inboard tanks. If you see anything suspicious, please call 911.It is better to be safe than sorry. Let's have a safe and extra fun boating season.
