STOCKTON RECREATION FITNESS CENTER
GUIDELINES
· All members will receive a swipe card for free. If a card is lost, damaged, etc. member will need to pay the Stockton Recreation Commission $10 for a replacement card. Family Memberships and Member and Spouse OR Dependent will receive two cards per family. (the dependent must be in High School to receive the second card in this case)
· High School students under the age of 16 years who pay for a single membership will receive a swipe card to access the facility with parent or legal guardian supervisor if they themselves are not members. This will be closely monitored and at NO time should they come alone or without a member or supervisor over the age of 18 years. If the non-member supervisor would then like to work out, they can pay a daily or weekly membership fee.
· Any Junior High students (must be 12 yrs old as of January 1, of the current year) wanting to begin working out in the fitness center need to schedule an appointment with Bridget to learn how to correctly and safely use the equipment.
· 12 year olds who pay for a single membership will receive a swipe card to access the facility with parent or legal guardian supervisor if they themselves are not members. If the non-member supervisor would then like to work out, they can pay a daily or weekly membership fee.
· Monthly Membership fees are due on the corresponding day of the next month. If membership fees are not paid, the swipe cards will no longer allow you into the facility until payment is made. Please drop off payments in the black drop box located by the front door, mail them, or bring them in during staffed hours.
· Each member must bring their own card and swipe it each time they enter the fitness center. Please do not allow others in to work out with your card! If you are caught letting people into the fitness center with your card –
1st Offense – Member will received a verbal/written warning
2nd Offense – Member will receive a $10 fine
3rd Offense – Member will receive a $30 fine
4th Offense – The Stockton Recreation Commission will decide if the member will be able to continue to utilize the card swiping system and/or fitness center.
· If a daily guest wants to use the fitness center, and a member swipes them into the fitness center, be sure the guest puts a $5 payment into the drop box and fills out a Daily Member form located by the drop box. If not, member(s) and guest will receive a verbal/written warning. The guest may also pay a $10 weekly membership fee by filling out the Daily Member form.
· If a member decides to not continue membership to the Stockton Fitness Center, the swipe card must be returned within 30 days or the member will be charged $10. If the $10 is not paid, and then the individual decides to begin membership again, the $10 fee still applies plus the membership fees.
· Please treat all equipment with respect and do not vandalize or leave trash (paper towels, wrappers, Kleenex, etc) on the floor. Members who are caught vandalizing equipment and/or the facility will be fined in accordance to the damage that was done.
· Please be respectful of other members and guests as well as staff.
· Always wear closed-toed shoes (tennis shoes/athletic shoes) to protect your feet, as well as keep our floors clean.
· Shirts will always be worn. No sports bras or bare chests. Please be sure to bring your own towel to cool and dry off.
· Clean all the equipment after use. There is a wall mount with anti-bacterial wipes and disinfectant spray bottles present to spray equipment and wipe it off.
· Please keep personal belongings off the floor so other members won’t trip over them. Either hang them up on hangers available up front, or bring your own lock and keep them in the lockers. Be advised that Stockton Recreation and Fitness Center is not responsible for any lost or stolen personal belongings.
· Please be sure to allow other members to use the equipment you are on. During your rest periods between sets, allow other members to work in a set.
· For no reason is an individual under 12 as of January 1 of the current year, to be in the facility using any of the equipment. Please seek medical advice and council when your children want to begin lifting weights. This is for their health and safety.
· Please refrain from obscenities while working out, so you will not offend other members.
· ABSOLUTELY NO TABACCO OR ALCOHOL ALLOWED ON THE PREMISIES. IF MEMBER IS CAUGHT, MEMBERSHIP WILL BE REVOKED.
· Please report all equipment that doesn’t seem to be working properly. Paper and pens are available by the drop box to leave a note if need be.
· Please do not bang the weight plates on the Isometric Machines or drop dumbbells on the ground in between sets. Please set them down in a safe manner. This will help our equipment from being damaged and also prevent unwanted accidental injury.
· Weights need to be RERACKED after each use.
· When using very heavy free weights, a spotter must be present.
· Decrease the elevation and the speed on the treadmills after each use.
· No Horse-Play or running in the fitness center (Unless it’s on a treadmill). There will be no throwing of the dumbbells or heavy weight equipment. This is not only for your safety but the well-being of other members.
· Harassment or threats to members of any kind will not be tolerated. Please treat others with respect while working out. If this shall occur your membership will be revoked.
· Please bring a second pair of shoes (must be closed-toed) to work out especially during the winter months. This will help us keep our facility clean and avoid tracking in salt that is on icy sidewalks and streets and mud and rocks on rainy days.
· Be sure to consult your Doctor or Physician before beginning any exercise or training regimen.
· Absolutely NO WEAPONS, legally permitted or not, allowed on fitness center property at any time.
The Stockton Recreation Commission is very proud of our 24/7 Fitness Center with swipe card and camera system for our community. Please note that the Stockton Recreation Commission reserves the right to revise existing and/or add new guidelines and rules at any time. The Stockton Recreation Commission also reserves the right to revoke memberships for misconduct or intentional misuse of equipment or facility in any way. Following a verbal and written warning, any intentional offender can and will be banned from the fitness center for a period of time. Period of revocation and/or any decision regarding reinstatement to membership is at the discretion of the Stockton Recreation Commission.
