GlenRidge On The Web

The Glen Ridge Borough web site located at offers many helpful resources and up to the minute information to all residents. A visitor to the site will find such features as printable Borough forms, municipal codes, the latest Jitney and Channel 36 schedules, monthly activities for seniors and more. A quick glance at the main page of the site shows "What's New" in GlenRidge, and there's even an online tour available to show off our Borough to guests.

In keeping with the Mayor and Council's directive for transparent government, the agenda for each Council meeting is posted regularly on the site. On the agenda page, active links are made to relevant resolutions and ordinances to be discussed. Web users can view these documents before the meeting. In addition, site visitors can quickly and easily subscribe to any of the GlenRidge mailing lists to receive timely announcements and upcoming Council agendas via e-mail.

Our goal is to provide as much information as possible in a time-saving and convenient format that is available 24/7. We strive to constantly improve the level of online service available to residents and hope you will take advantage of the site. If you have any comments or suggestions for additional features, feel free to contact Michael Zichelli, Deputy Administrator at 973-748-4444 or e-mail .

Channel 36 Comes Of Age

Channel 36, GlenRidge's municipal television station, has been a community resource for the past 6 years. Manned by a loyal core of volunteers, the station broadcasts its content 24 hours a day to all town residents who are subscribers of the Comcast Cable service. One of the primary features of the station's programming is the bulletin board notices, which provide residents and local organizations an opportunity to announce events and activities of interest to the community. The station also broadcasts all of the meetings of the Town Council and the Board of Education at different times during the day in order to provide residents with several viewing opportunities. Local sporting events and concerts are shown, when available. In addition, the station broadcasts local church services, yoga classes, as well as movies each afternoon and midnight.

Thanks to the technical expertise of Rich Waters, the station has been operating on antiquated equipment, not to mention a financial shoestring. However, using funds available to it from Comcast, Channel 36 is about to launch a significant upgrade that will not only give the programming a more professional look, but will also add to the speed and efficiency of the postings.

Volunteers are always welcome, including high school students with interests in mass media, telecommunications, broadcasting and journalism. Indeed, Channel 36 is currently working to access and broadcast programming done at the high school, as well as all the schools' schedules and special events. There are still many improvements and possibilities for the future direction of our hometown TV station. Our community is strengthened by our proficient ability to communicate.

If you have an announcement to be shown, video you would like to broadcast, movie to suggest or time to volunteer...
