Test Options

NOTE: TAKE A TEST IS not AN OPTION THIS TIME.

Option 1: Concept Mapping
a. Using a blank sheet of paper, you must create conceptual map of the material from memory.
b. Verbally explain the map to the teacher.
c. Answer correctly any questions asked by the teacher.
d. Grade breakdown:
1. 40%-- re-creating the map
2. 40%-- explanation of the concepts
3. 20%-- successfully answering the questions

Option 2: Essays (100 points)
a. 3 to 5 pages, double-spaced typed (not including any artwork).
b. Must cite 4-6 different sources, one source may be the textbook.
c. Must include a bibliography.
d. Grade break-down:
1. 60% - paper covers the required topic successfully.
2. 10% - bibliography.
3. 20% - grammar, presentation, spelling, and number of pages.
4. 10% - creativity.

Option 3: Posters (100 points)
a. Must include all figures listed on the board.
b. Each drawing must be colored.
c. Each drawing must be properly labeled with the figure number.
d. Each drawing must be accompanied with a thorough explanation, either written or oral.
e. Minimum of one full page.
f. Grade breakdown:
1. 15% - Creativity
2. 25% - Accurate drawings
3. 45% - Detailed written or oral explanation
4. 15% - Overall presentation

Option 4: Create a Video
a. You must create a video that will teach the major concepts of the unit.
b. Use your imagination!
c. You must use your own equipment or borrow a friends.
d. Grade breakdown:
1. 40% - Creativity
2. 50% - Accuracy of contents
3. 10% - Overall presentation

Option 5: Create a Test
a. Create a 25 question multiple choice test, and accompanying answer key.
b. The test must cover all of the major concepts in the unit/chapter.
c. Grade breakdown:
1. 3% - for each question with at least four multiple choice answers. The answers must be related to the unit/chapter.
2. 25% - For individuality, creativity and accuracy.

Option 6: Create a Song
a. You must create song that will teach the major concepts from the unit.
b. Use your imagination. Also, you must use your own equipment, as we have none in the class.

c. You must record it as an.mp3 or .wav to play for the class
d. The Song must cover all of the major concepts in the unit/chapter.
e. Grade breakdown:
1. 40% - for creativity
2. 50% - Accuracy of contents
3. 10% -- Overall presentation

Option 7: Oral examination
a. Orally answer all questions to the satisfaction of the teacher on pertinent concepts covered in the unit.
b. You must answer 10 conceptual questions
c. Grade breakdown:
d. 10% possible for each question answered correctly.

Option 8: Create an Option
a. You must come up with an idea of your own to learn the concepts in the chapter/unit.
b. You must clear the idea with the teacher for approvalBEFORE BEGINNING!
c. Grade breakdown:
1. 30%-- Creativity
2. 50%-- Accuracy of contents
3. 20%-- Overall presentation

Option 9: Dioramas/ Mobiles/ Bake- a- Model
a. You must include all figures and features in the chapter/unit.
b. Each figure, feature, or structure must be as accurate as possible.
c. Each figure, feature, or structure must be properly labeled.
d. Each figure, feature, or structure must be accompanied by a thorough explanation, either written or oral. Minimum of one page, double-spaced, typed.
e. Grade breakdown:
1. 15%-- Creativity, originality, and individuality
2. 50%-- Accuracy of Contents
3. 25%-- written or oral explanation
4. 10%-- Overall presentation

Option 10: Teaching
a. As a teacher you will help a pupil in any of my classes learn the major concepts from the unit/chapter
b. You will teach all major concepts presented in the chapter/unit to another student.
c. Grade breakdown:
1. You will receive the same score earned by your pupil on the test given to the class.

Option 11: Jeopardy Test (100 points)
a. Create a test that is in the Jeopardy game format (if you don't know what I mean watch the show.)
b. The test must have at least 5 categories with at least 5 questions each.

c. Answer correctly any questions asked by the teacher.

d. Grade breakdown:
1. 3% - for each question. The answers must be related to the unit.
2. 25% - for individuality and creativity

Option 12: Create a Multimedia Presentation
a. You must create a multimedia presentation that will teach the major concepts from the unit.
b. Use your imagination.

c. The Presentation, Web page, or other type of Multimedia Presentation must cover all of the major concepts in the unit/chapter.
d. Grade breakdown:
1. 30% - for creativity
2. 60% - Accuracy of contents
3. 10% -- Overall presentation

Option 13: Create a Podcast (mp3)

a. You must create a podcast that will teach the major concepts from the unit.
b. Use your imagination. Also, you can use the equipment at the teen center, as we have none in the class.

d. Grade breakdown:
1. 30% - for creativity
2. 60% - Accuracy of contents
3. 10% -- Overall presentation
