Café Closed This Friday

With Pastor Steve and Mrs. Popen on vacation, the Café will be closed this Friday. Friday pizzas will resume next week!

Picture Day

Our annual Picture Day will be Tuesday, October 21st. This year we are working with a new company for our school pictures and yearbook, locally owned Finger Lakes School Portraits. All students will have their pictures taken for our yearbook whether individual portraits are ordered or not.Order forms were sent home

with the students last Friday. Please return them to the school, with payment, by Monday, October 20th.

Veterans Day

While other schools will be closed, CCCS will be in session on November 11th, Veterans Day. In honor of our veterans we will have an assembly at 1:30 p.m. to celebrate this special day. Our keynote speaker will be US Army veteran, Dr. Les Moore. Please invite your family and friends to attend!

Our Calvary Chapel Choir, grades K through 8th will be singing at the assembly. In order to have our Kindergarten present for our 1:30 p.m.assembly, they will have a “full day” that day. Please send them with a lunch so they can eat with the rest of the school.

God’s Creation Calendars

As a school fundraiser we are again selling God’s Creation Calendars. The 2015 editions are now available in the Chapel Store at the cost of $9.00 each. We are encouraging the students to also participate in these sales. Be sure to utilize the order form that was sent home earlier. All orders and payments are due by Monday, December 1st. This will ensure that you receive your calendars in time for Christmas.

Other Ways to Help

We don’t put a major emphasis on fund raising here at CCCS, however, there are a few other ways that you can help. One way is saving the Box Tops for Education. Many food brands contain this small label on the package. If you see this on an item that you use, please bring it in to our drop off box at the school desk, or give it to your teacher. They are worth a dime to the school, and last year this added up to be over $300 for CCCS.

Another way to help the school is through the online shopping mall,Schoolstore.com. If you shop online,

go to this website to purchase items that you would normally buy. The school will receive a certain percentage of the sale amount. We will be renewing our 12 month involvement with Schoolstore.com at the beginning of November. More information will be coming out in a few weeks.

You can also help CCCS by bringing in your old ink cartridges to your printer. We also receive money for each cartridge when they are turned in to the recycling company. Every little bit helps!

Parent Teacher Conferences

Our First Quarter will be coming to an end on Friday, November 7th. Parent/Teacher Conferences will be after school on November13, 14, 18, 20, and 21. We ask that you call the school office to set up your conference time. If you have more than one child in the school we will try to set up the conference times back to back. Sign-ups will begin October 23rd.

Christmas Concert

This year our Christmas Concert with Calvary Chapel Choir, made up of CCCS and home school students, will be on Wednesday, December 17th at 7:00 p.m. Be sure to have you family members join us as we celebrate the birth of our Savior!

Holiday Policy

As we approach the seasonal celebrations, here is a reminder of our school policy towards them:

“The primary focus of all our holiday celebrations at school is to glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The way a family chooses to celebrate holidays outside of school (such as Halloween, Christmas, Easter, etc.) is, of course, a personal choice. Christian parents vary greatly in what they feel is acceptable for any given holiday. We do not wish to intentionally or unintentionally stumble others. Therefore, please do not bring in or distribute items or merchandise that are often related to these holidays such as witches, skeletons, jack-o-lanterns, Santas, Easter Bunnies, etc., which could be offensive to others. Your cooperation and sensitivity are deeply appreciated!”

How We Look

With our dress code policy of noskin-tight pants, your cooperation has been greatly appreciated. We have had a few instances, however, where the pants (mainly girls) have been considered “borderline”. Please check what your children are wearing before they come to school. Please point them in the direction of modesty so you won’t have to receive a call from the school office concerning an outfit that your child is wearing. Thank you!

And they continued stedfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship,

and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
