K5 and 1st Grade Literature List

The following is the list of titles that our students are encouraged to read. It is desired that, if a student completes his entire elementary experience at Midway, he will have read a minimum of 80 of the books listed or an average of 10 books each year. Reading for history may be included in this total. Outside, recreational reading is highly encouraged for our students. However, that reading is not included in the numbers above. The student may have these books read to him until such time as he has developed the ability to read them.
