Job Description

Job Title: Regional Manager, ArcHeritage

Salary: £33,000 - 39,000 p.a depending upon skills and experience

Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer

Responsible for: Project Managers, Project Officers, Project Supervisors, Archaeologists (and others if team shape changes)

Role summary: To lead the strategic direction and development of ArcHeritage, generating new revenue streams and ensuring the department’s sustainability. To manage the projects, people, external relationships, financial and operational issues and achieve the Charity’s objectives.

Key Duties & Responsibilites

·  Be responsible for the development and sustainability of ArcHeritage, and ensure that this also achieves the strategic aims of the Trust as a whole.

·  Be responsible for strategic policy initiatives including contributing at Trust-wide level.

·  Report regularly through to the executive team regarding activity, projects financial performance and staffing issues.

·  Promote and contribute to the archaeological and heritage understanding of the region.

·  Identify opportunities for income generation including developing alternate revenue streams.

·  Be responsible for the overall financial performance of the office, but devolve budgetary management on a project-by project basis as appropriate.

·  Generate and maintain new client contacts and develop new relationships, partnerships and business opportunities.

·  Secure external project funding (including research projects) through successful proposals and tenders.

·  Ensure that staff training needs are met, and that the skills cohere as a group to enable ArcHeritage to operate successfully within the profession, to high standard.

·  Develop and maintain a portfolio of work that is sustainable, contains niche specialisms and high value outputs and contributes to the Trust's wider social objectives.

·  Encourage and facilitate inter-office working and the sharing of expertise within the Trust.

·  Produce costings and project designs and information for tenders for larger and strategic projects.

·  Ensure effective multi project management and accurate tracking.

·  Have responsibility for some operations management through liaison with the Operations Manager.

·  Ensure compliance with Trust policies including Health & Safety, Environmental, Equal Opps, Anti Harassment and Bullying, UK working validity, Data Protection and others.

·  Liaise with the Head of Marketing on PR strategy.

·  Represent ArcHeritage and the Trust in the public sphere as part of outreach activities. This includes giving public lecture/talks and other community activities as required.

·  Any other duties/tasks that may be reasonably requested by line managers.
