Linville is home to The Eseeola Lodge and Linville Golf Club, which operate under the Linville Resorts, Inc. umbrella. The Eseeola Lodge at Linville Golf Club opens annually in mid-May closes in late October. The golf course is a Donald Ross designed course, known and recognized as one of the finer courses nationwide. The Eseeola Lodge is a small lodge with 24 rooms and one two-bedroom cottage. Application for Employment

Linville Resorts, Inc. is currently interviewing applicants for the 2017 season. Prospective applicants must be available for the entire 2017 season to be considered for employment unless alternate employment arrangements have been made. Training for most positions begins the week prior to opening. Since we provide full alcohol service, all applicants must be at least 18 years of age. All employees are expected to be available to work nights and weekends throughout the season. College students are required to be available a minimum of thirty hours per week (weekdays and weekends) after classes begin in the fall until the closing of the lodge.

Appearance

Employees of Linville Resorts, Inc. are expected to maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times while on Linville Resorts, Inc. property. Appearance guidelines are explained in detail in the Employee Handbook.

As An Employee

Employees are eligible for a room and a shift meal. These privileges are provided free of charge. Living on property is not required.

A refundable security deposit of $150 is required from each employee who lives in Linville Resorts, Inc. housing. The deposit is refunded at check-out if the room key is returned and the room is left in its original condition. The deposit is refundable solely at the discretion of Linville Resorts, Inc. Dorm residents will have one roommate. The company provides rooms as a benefit for employees who do not have other local housing. Please do not request a room if one is not needed. Noise in the dormitories should be kept to a minimum. For the benefit of employees, Linville Resorts, Inc. Security regularly patrols the dormitory areas. Drug use and underage drinking are grounds for termination and prosecution.

Limited privileges such as golfing, tennis, and dining exist for employees. The rules governing these privileges may change depending on the season and level of business at the Resort.

Scholarships

Linville Foundation Scholarships are available for eligible employees who return to undergraduate and graduate school in the United States during and/or for a limited period after the 2017 season. The focus of the Linville Foundation is undergraduate studies and these students typically receive more award money than graduate students. Scholarship eligibility requires full-time status and a fulfillment of contract dates. Scholarships are awarded after the season ends. Proof of enrollment is required.

Time Off

It is not possible for Linville Resorts, Inc. to allow much time off during season. Organizational efforts are focused on the short period of the year the Resort is open. Please consider this when applying for a position. Employees are expected to be available nights and weekends.

Interview Process

Interviews will be conducted as necessary for Bell Staff, Culinary, Dining Room, Dishwasher, Front Desk, Night Auditor (full and part time), and Children’s Program. Certain positions fill faster than others dependent on returning staff, department size, and needs.

Interviews (Location and Information)

November-May FTF (Face-to-Face) interviews are conducted in The Chestnut Room on Linville Resorts, Inc. property. The Chestnut Room, “Eseeola Offices”, is located behind The Eseeola Lodge at Linville Golf Club. Directions to The Chestnut Room (from Boone, approximately 25-30 minutes): Hwy 105 to Linville, remain straight through the Linville intersection (Linville Post Office on the right), pass The Eseeola Lodge, turn left at the four way stop SIGN onto Roseboro Road, take the next left onto Carolina Avenue, proceed 100 yards or so to The Chestnut Room (located on the left). You may park in front of the Chestnut Room building and enter through the front door. Do not go to The Eseeola Lodge as we are closed in the off-season. Off-season (November-May) interviews are scheduled Monday-Friday. Distance-interviews may be conducted via Skype. All interviews are appointment only.
