Why do we give?

We give for a very simple reason: that’s what God tells us to do in the Bible. It’s clear in numerous places in the Old Testament (Lev 27:30-32, for example) that the tithe was the model provided by God for supporting divine worship and meeting the needs of the poor.

What do we give?

Giving takes various forms in Scripture, including the tithe and various offerings: “And Abraham gave him a tenth of everything” (Genesis 14:20). The backside of this form has examples of tithing.
