Overview

The aim of thisdocument isto provide overarching context of the Tasmanian State Service (TSS) Workforce Survey scorecard as a useful decision-making tool.

The scorecard makes the results of the survey measurableso that you will get a clear picture of how employeesview their working life inyour organisation. These measureable results can then be used by human resources, managers and workgroups to develop evidence-based strategies, policies and procedures.

The scorecard is a simple, common sense tool to help you gain agreement on strategy, strengths and weaknesses; and helps measurenon-financial performance outcomes.

The scorecard model is based on extensive research around drivers of performance that have the greatestimpact on employees. The scorecard measures 12 focus areas that are groupedinto five different themes/performance indicators. These themes/performance indicators indicate outcomes under the headings of:

  • Workforce Identity, Attitude and Principles
  • Leadership, Management and Workforce Behaviour
  • Workforce Capability and Performance.

As well as gaining important information from the TSS Workforce Survey, itcommunicatesto employees what is considered most important to the organisation. In short, what we measure becomes important.

Finally, beyond gathering information, the TSS Survey provides a consistent whole-of-Service measurement and should complement any internal reporting you do.
