Getting the Most from your Business Expo Booth
10 Marketing Tips for a Successful Booth
- Have Plenty of Business Cards: Bring enough business cards to give to the more than 150 people expected to attend the Business Expo.
- Make First Impressions Count: Remember the basics and dress professionally, offer a firm handshake, look people in the eyes, smile and be friendly.
- Use a Headline: Place a large sign or banner that states the number one, compelling reason to do business with you. Attendees who want that benefit will then inquire.
- Prepare a Short, Memorable Spiel: This message should include WHO you are, WHAT you offer, and WHY they need to do business with you. Practice until it feels natural and perfect.
- Give a Door Prize: This is a great way to collect business cards from the attendees. Your Door Prize should be something of value that is indicative of what you do.
- Collect Business Cards: The Business Expo provides excellent networking opportunities. You will discover potential clients, partners and vendors.
- Use Advertising Specialties: Give-away items that market your advantages are a great way to continually spread your message.
- Wear a Nametag: A shirt with your company logo on it and a nametag are memory boosting marketing aids. They also make it faster and easier to get to your prepared spiel. Wear your nametag on the right side so that when you shake hands, the other person’s eyes will see your name.
- Recruit a Helper: Another friendly person who can answer questions, replenish materials, hand out and take contact information will be a big help.
- Place Memorable Objects in your Booth: This should be something that makes it easy for attendees to remember you, your booth and your offering.
Having a successful Business Expo booth takes planning, preparation and follow-through.
