Job Title:Fundraising Assistant

Salary:£12,000 per annum

Reports to:Fundraising Manager

Location: Based at the City Hospital campus, with a requirement for the post holder to work from the QMC campus as required. Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust operates a shuttle bus for this purpose.

Contract:Full time, permanent

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, the post-holder will be responsible for supporting the Fundraising, Communications and Finance operations of Nottingham Hospitals Charity.

The rolewill involve providing administrative and events support to Corporate and Community fundraising; supporting Marketing and Communications activity; recruiting and assisting Charity volunteers; and, when necessary, assisting the Finance department with gift processing.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising

  • To be a key contact for community, corporate and hospital staff fundraising enquiries to the fundraising office, including responding to telephone calls, emails and letters; collation and sending of information packs to potential and current supporters; and advisingon queries relating to fundraising and volunteering.
  • To work with Fundraising colleagues to oversee Charity collection box activity within the community, in particular working to develop partnerships with businesses hosting collection tins.
  • To support the Fundraising Manager and Corporate Partnerships Officer with admin related to corporate partnerships – to include updating Raiser’s Edge; preparing presentations; collating and sending information packs; delivering collection tins and merchandise; organising mailings; and developing social media links with businesses.
  • To support the Fundraising team by producing monthly stewardship letters to former fundraisers, promoting forthcoming events and appeals.
  • To support the promotion and delivery of fundraising, profile-raising, donor stewardship and challenge events.
  • Following agreed processes, to ensure the meticulous recording of all data relating to community and corporate fundraising on Raiser’s Edge and filing systems (including personal data and financial information).

Finance

  • If required, to support the Finance Team with a range of tasks relating to gift processing, data input, handling cash and supporter communications

Marketing & Communications

  • To work with the Marketing & Communications team, particularly supporting the ongoing development of Nottingham Hospitals Charity’s digital and social media channels.

Volunteers

  • To supervise and assist Nottingham Hospitals Charity’s pool of active volunteers supporting office administration, events, Zephyr’s and fundraising initiatives.
  • To support the Fundraising team by leading on the recruitment of volunteers for collections and events, using agreed networks and contacts.
  • To assist with the booking and management of volunteer-led fundraising stands at QMC and City Hospital.

General

  • To welcome visitors into the Charity office, signposting them to appropriate colleagues.
  • To ensure that a donor-focused approach is adopted at all times when dealing with donors, members of the public and colleagues, to maximise the opportunities of encouraging donor giving.
  • To undertake training and skills development and to keep up-to-date with the changing requirements of the role.
  • To be continually aware of the need for improvement and development of all aspects of advice and information to donors and colleagues.
  • To work within legal and charity guidelines.
  • To work within Nottingham Hospitals Charity’s fundraising, administrative and IT systems and guidelines.
  • To represent Nottingham Hospitals Charity internally and externally as required.
  • To undertake any other duties, which may be reasonably required.
  • To abide by the Code of Fundraising Practice.
