~Even the littlest cardinals need to look like cardinals. Since we are now in the full swing of the year, I wanted to address any uniform questions you may have. Most students are good to go, but I’m going to mention it to allow for questions.

All students must be in full uniform every day with the exception of students who participate in Bengal Mania or Redsfest! This includes:

Socks: Students must always have socks.

A fleece or sweatshirt should be an STM printed garment unless you have an exception from the office

Shorts may be worn until Nov 1st and should be navy blue

It is a great idea to wear gym shoes on gym days: Thursday & Friday

As your child starts to wear coats and hoodies, they should have their names printed in them.

~Our First Monkey was announced last Friday and boy was Dalton Waters excited. Please help us keep this excitement by keep it a secret until they find out at school. We do a little ceremony each time it is announced.Don’t forget to add your child’s Marvelous Monkey week to your calendar and remember it is a surprise when they find out. I will announce our first Monkey on Friday!

We will be going to the library every Friday from 10:30-11:15!

Kelly Koch has volunteered to coordinate our Library schedule and on most Fridays she can be there, but needs a second adult and sometime 2 adults for the Fridays she will miss. Kelly’s email address is

We need at least 2 volunteers each Friday. If there is ever a Friday that we don’t have school, the kids just hold onto their books until the following Friday!

Transportation and community Helpers!

This week we will have a visit from firefighters on Thursday morning. We are also taking a little break in Unit this week because we are celebrating Jonny Appleseed’s birthday and doing a number of activities with apples.

Religion

As part of the very important apple week, we will be talking about some of the special gifts God has given to us and how fortunate we are to always have food in our lives!

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

If you ever have a child that says they don’t know what they did at school today, please use one of the following questions to get a conversation started. Lots of times we tend to ask yes or no questions that end the conversation, so these should strike up a conversation instead!

  • What is a picto Graph?
  • What coin are we leaning about this week?
  • When are we going “Caught Being Good” shopping?

Homework

Monday: Apples are a sweet gift from God

Tuesday: Use the checklist to get ready for your sight word test on Thursday

Wednesday: Counting apples

Thursday: Apple Activities
