Commercial Lines Processor

Reports To:Commercial Lines Manager/Commercial Account Manager

Primary Functions:

  1. Provide assistance to Producers/Commercial Account Manager in processing of new and renewal commercial lines business in accordance with agency procedures and guidelines.
  1. Provide in-house customer service to clients as assigned and requested.

Major Responsibilities

  1. As requested by Account Managers, help coordinate expirations with producer and/or account executive to obtain renewal and/or new business information.
  1. As requested, assist in marketing new and renewal business, prepare presentation packets and maintain underwriting and marketing information by carrier.
  1. Learn to check new and renewal policies for accuracy in rating, typing, coverages, signatures, and input these transactions to generate billing invoices. Ensure that these items are delivered and/or mailed to client.
  1. Receive phone calls from clients and companies regarding insurance, claims, or administrative problems, and comply with the request and/or refer to the producer only when necessary.
  2. Process Non-premium bearing endorsements and/or mail them to the insured
  3. Assist with Certificates of insurance, Evidence of Property, Pre-renewal letters, summaries, certificate holder lists, etc…
  4. Assist in updating applications per Account Manager and insured requests.
  5. Process statements and cancellation notices. Make calls to carriers, finance companies and insureds as required.
  1. Maintain a suspense system to follow up on outstanding orders, correspondence, reports, and follow up on overdue and suspense items.
  2. Become proficient with the Applied System and company rating systems.
  1. Become familiar with and follow agency E&O guidelines.
  1. Learn to maintain electronic and/or paper files in an orderly, up-to-date manner.
  1. Provide prompt, accurate courteous service to our clients.

Qualifications

  1. Must be a self-starter, team oriented, imaginative and creative with good communication skills both verbal and written.
  1. Minimum of two years experience in similar position is desirable. Must be licensed per state requirements. 2-20 license is preferred 4-40 is acceptable.
  2. Have strong computer skills – Applied System experience is preferred
  3. Ability to multi-task and detailed oriented.
  4. Desire to work towards advanced education designations is preferred.
