Library to host free consultations, workshops for Financial Planning Day

Members of the public have the opportunity to get free expert help with their finances as part of the local partnership between the City of Cincinnati, the Financial Planning Association of Southwestern Ohio and the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. The local Financial Planning Day will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25, 10 a.m.–2:30 p.m., at the Main Library.

Residents can attend free workshops about Social Security, retirement planning, personal budgeting and debt management. Residents can meet one-on-one with a highly qualified Certified Financial Planner™ who is volunteering time to address your personal financial questions.

“The advice will be offered on a ‘no strings attached’ basis, and planners will not give out business cards or sell financial products or services,” says Bill Schretter of the Financial Planning Association of Southwestern Ohio.

Registration is recommended. To register or set an appointment, call 877-861-7826 or visit www.financialplanningdays.org. The Main Library is located at 800 Vine St. The local Financial Planning Day is part of the national event to promote financial literacy sponsored by four national non-profit organizations: the CFP Board, the Financial Planning Association, the Foundation for Financial Planning and the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
