Pay close attention to Table 2.2, page 123.
Note: In Figure 2.8, page 123, the names “Tab Alignment Button” and “Tab Button” are also used in reference to the “Tab Selector” (as indicated in our textbook).
Key things to take special note of in Chapter 2: Font Dialog box (and its contents), Change Case command, Non-breaking hyphen and space, Tab Markers, Tab Alignment button (also known as Tab Selector), Leader Tabs, Bulleted and Numbered Lists, Nonprinting marks, Styles, Picture Styles, Picture Editing, Symbols.
·  Review Chapter 5 Selected Topics: Drop Cap, Columns Dialog Box, Continuous Section Break, Inserting Text Box, Drawing Shapes (Callout), WordArt.

(5) / ·  Desktop Publishing: Create a Multi-Column Newsletter for your Small Business (Not in Textbook)
o  The newsletter should be one page and contain information related to your small business.
o  It must feature a single column area for basic information about your small business and a two or three
column area containing two brief articles.
§  Separate columns with a vertical bar like demonstrated in class (and in Chapter 5).
§  Here is a small image of what your page layout might look like (this thumbnail does not contain all of the required elements listed below):
o  Regarding the two articles:
§  Article ideas include: Overview of the products and/or services you offer, health insurance policies offered to employees, new products and/or services, grand openings of new stores, new employees, employee accomplishments, employee of the month, etc… have fun. You may use text from your web site.
Required Word elements: Drop Cap, Horizontal Line, Multiple Font Faces and Sizes, An Occasion of Wide Horizontal Letter Spacing (as demonstrated in class), WordArt, A Page Border, Paragraph Shading, Continuous Section Break (to separate the single column area from the two or three column area), Callout containing a pull quote (and style settings applied to the callout), Image or clip art that has a picture style setting (Picture Tools Format tab / Shadow Effects group), SmartArt (with unique style settings applied).
§  Print (B/W is fine) and attach to this cover page.
