CREWS MIDDLE SCHOOL GUEST SPEAKER FORM CAREERS

In order to bring our curriculum to life, and to give you an opportunity to participate in your child’s classroom we are inviting parents and community members to share their expertise in the world of work with our students taking Career Education at Crews Middle School. The knowledge that our students gain by participating helps them understand why they are being introduced to career-related academic knowledge and skills at an early age. Please consider coming in to talk about what you do for a living, or forward this to a friend or family member who would help us build a real-life understanding of the world of work.

Our guest speakers help us cover our Academic Knowledge & Skills by sharing information about the following:

·  Discuss employer expectations

·  Share the road to success . . . (tell about your first job and how your experiences groomed you for your current position)

·  Explain your responsibilities and what a day or a week is like in your shoes

·  Describe your trials and accomplishments throughout your life

*You are welcome to share handouts/materials/DVD/Multimedia/treats/marketing materials with students regarding your industry or position. You are an integral part of the classroom as you impact our student learning through your presentation.
