Due to the resignation of NE Zone Director, Dan Lukanec, Marty Miller has agreed to take over as chairman of the trophy committee. NE Zone Director Ron Arter will assist Marty and Tonya Bluhm McCauley, so he can learn the trophy duties. Last year, $22,264.00 was spent on trophies for the State and Zone shoots. SW Zone Director Jeff Schlichter moved to budget $22,000.00 (plus A.T.A. trophies) for the year with the understanding that the trophy committee is aware we have $4,500.00 in revenue coming from Detty Outdoors and Middletown Sportsman’s Club. With a move to second, the motion was passed unanimously. The Board saw samples of the belt buckles that Detty Outdoors will provide for the championship doubles. Secretary Snively advised the Board that the annual gun club trophy package is being well received. She will assist Marty Miller in determining the Zone trophies. For the final item of old business, Noreen followed up on the opiate epidemic information provided by Angie Denes. The Board suggested that Mrs. Denes organize a fundraiser in conjunction with the October National Trapshooting Day.

Vice President Bobby Caplinger informed the Board that Detty Outdoors has produced a video with the footage gathered by a drone last year. Steve Corwin agreed to bring the video to the April 7th meeting. Noreen will place an order for 75 more vendor hats and 50 more sponsor hats. Dennis Filo moved to increase the stipend for the Museum Director and the Youth Director by $250.00 for the year. With a move to second, the motion passed unanimously. Noreen provided the Board with a draft of the State Shoot program for their review. The target cost will remain at $30.00. The deadline for revisions is March 19th. Everyone on the Board is responsible for reviewing the program and assisting with editing. The program will include a $10.00 option for seven guns (that are yet to be determined), provided by MidwayUSA. Noreen shared the full-page, color ad that she placed in Trap and Field magazine. She is preparing the second ad for Trap and Field as well as the full- page, color ad for Trapshooting USA. Director-at-Large, Bobby Caplinger reviewed the sponsors for the State Shoot. The big item, a Kubota 400 RTV, will be in camo this year instead of orange, and sponsored by Evolution AG in Circleville, Ohio. The golf carts have been ordered for the Board, Delegates, and incoming Directors. Noreen will have laminated signs for everyone. There will be orange crusher targets used for Monday’s

events. The 50/50 ticket winners will be announced at shoot-offs. The drawings will be Monday through Saturday. Jeff Schlichter confirmed that the CEB would be open Monday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. for classification, squadding and cashiering…open 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday…7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, and 7:30 to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday during the State Shoot.

During the meeting, Luke and Jake Spengler stopped by to visit with the Board and touch base regarding the upcoming tournament. They were asked about the purchase of the voice calls and they requested an invoice from Jeff or Courtney. CEB hours were reviewed and confirmed. They were informed of the AAA class addition and they will follow suit. The Farmstead Restaurant is being converted to a sports bar with a liquor license. Land is being cleared for the addition of a hotel. The plans for a possible 48-foot tall, gray shot screen have been tabled. There are concerns that the screen may be too disturbing- sheen from the sun and waves from the wind as it stretches. The cost of replacement panels is costly and the colors won’t always match from panel to panel. The air conditioner in the museum has been causing serious issues from leaking. The Board would like Justin to follow up on the repair.

At 1:11 p.m., Jeff Schlichter moved that the Association meeting be adjourned. With a move to second, the motion passed unanimously.

Respectfully submitted,

Noreen Snively
