Motion by Rheault to approve the minutes of May 16, 2013. Second by Warner, all voting yes, motion carried.

Rec Director Hagen was present to discuss the status of the Recreation Program. At first, there were several complaints on the increased prices at the pool, but there have not been any lately. There is a Babe Ruth tournament in Rugby on July 15-17th. The city pays for the umpires for these games. Hagen requested that the pay for the umpires be increased from $18/game to $40/game plus 50 cents per mile for this tournament. The latter is the normal price paid throughout the state. Motion by Rheault to increase the umpire pay for the tournament to $40/game plus 50 cents per mile. Second by Warner, all voting yes, motion carried.

Discussion was held on two pool employees that have been mowing for the Public Works Department on their off-time, Eric Kuntz and Wyatt Thompson. It was decided to pay them a rate of $9/hour for mowing.

Fire Chief Schneibel presented a revised copy of the Fire Department ordinance. The committee will look it over and come with suggested changes at the next meeting. The city should adopt a fire code. If there is no fire code adopted, the city would automatically fall under the International Fire Code. It was suggested to order a book containing the codes and also a building code book.

The loitering ordinance is still being revised. City Auditor Hauck hopes to have the revised ordinance for the next meeting.

It was requested that City Attorney Hartl revise the ordinance that states no trucks carrying hazardous material should be traveling in town. This morning, Hartl requested that Hauck do the revising.

Discussion was held on the grass ordinance. It becomes a public health issue when grass gets too high. There is also a list of houses/buildings that the health inspector should be looking at. They may need to be condemned. The city mows yards and bills the owner after the owner is given notice and does not mow. Discussion was held on the costs charged to the owners.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 3:25pm.
