Agenda
NYFEA Update
Unfortunately, Steve Sanderson had a family situation and was not able to join in the call. Jason gave a brief update on the NYFEA.
The Council Update
Mike Womochil provided an update on the Council following the recent meeting of the Council in Minnesota. Council is currently being asked to look at the current role of the council versus the future role of the council. Also discussed was if the Council was viewing long term vision or just a doing group. Motion was introduced to transfer management of the Council from National FFA to NAAE. Mike shared he was not prepared to support that motion at the time. It will be revisited at the next meeting.
FFA is not in a position to continue providing staff, logistical management of the Council. Thus, the need to develop a long term management strategy for the Council.
Executive Committee went on record as supporting the discussion to look at alternatives to the question on management of the Council.
Professional Development Program
Reviewed the report provided by Scott Stump at Vivac. Jason suggested that we review the list and communicate via email later this week.
NASAE Conference
Jason is looking at sponsors and actual costs of the conference so as to reflect a true expense per participant.
NASAE Financial Management
Jason looked at the system utilized by the Council with a cost of $200 per month for writing checks and making deposits. Executive Committee recommends that Mr. Parker assume the role of the Executive Treasurer until the Annual Meeting where a member will be appointed to the position. Charles will work with Jay on securing all files relative to NASAE.
Western Region Vice President
Due to the change in assignments for Rebecca Wallace, Washington, the Executive Committee, reviewed its options and recommends Abbie DeMeerleer be asked if she is willing to serve. Jarrod will contact Abbie to see if she is willing to serve and report back on our next conference call.
Mentor List
Parker provided an update on the status of the mentor project. The project will be revisited at the Annual Meeting in October.
Next conference call is scheduled for June 5, 2017 at 3:30pm EST.
Conference call was adjourned at 4:55pm EST.
Respectfully submitted
Charles Parker, Secretary
