  • Kelli did not have exact numbers, but thinks we have spent about $100 on items and raised about $200. They make between $50 and $75 per game
  • They are working on getting a SignUp.com set up for volunteers and donors. It is not listed on our website yet, so Kelli P is the contact for folks at this point.
  • The Paines are okay with us using their refrigerator until the end of b-ball season, but they will need it back then. We should look at purchasing a fridge to replace it. TABLED to next meeting.

  • 18 submissions, 17 accepted, 1 denied (incomplete form)
  • Total of $2176.25 granted (see attached grant table)

  • The last one lasted 6 years
  • Used by K-8 primarily
  • Can laminate thick items
  • Board voted unanimously to pay the entire amount of $1900
  • **Screenagers (Jenny)
  • Film about the biological and psychological effect of screen time on teenagers
  • It has follow up materials designed to enable post-film discussion
  • Lisa will check with the other principals, counselors, a parent who is a lawyer and Officer Nye to see if they are interested in having it shown to kids and if they would be on the panel.
  • Jenny will check with the parent who told us about the film to see if she wants to help underwrite the event and/or be on the panel. She will also check with Steve from ESD 101 to see if he can be part of the event
  • Looking to have it in late February or early March—must be sure to advertise well
  • The program package allows for one screening for the students and one for the parents
  • We envision showing it to jr and sr high students in an assembly format and then to parents in the HS MPR the same day (or close to it).
  • It would be free to parents and cost $650 for entire package
  • Hopefully have a panel of “experts” to help aid the discussion after the parent screening
  • We would give teachers follow-up material they could use with their students, but it would be up to the teachers if they wanted to facilitate classroom discussion
  • We will discuss further at December meeting and report back from our research about the program
  • **Volunteer of the month (Jenny): Jenny proposed to have a section of each monthly PTSG meeting to recognize a special volunteer. It was approved and December’s volunteer spotlight was decided.
  • HS finals encouragement from PTSG (Jenny): Jenny proposed having a special “You’re a Smart Cookie” treat for HS students before finals. TABLED until next meeting (Jenny will bring an example)
