Important March Meeting Vote:
For those of you that were not able to attend the February meeting, The Venue Committee has attached two summary sheets of the recommendations proposed. We will be asking for a vote concerning these recommendations. Please make every effort to attend the March meeting.
See the attached summary info sheets for details.
Supported Entry Show this Month!
Remember the Clinton Co. KC show held in Dewitt IA on March 26th and 27th. This is our Supported Entry. We are asking everyone to bring a breakfast item; juice, bagels, donuts, fruit, bacon and eggs, pancakes and waffles, hash browns...... if they can.
Thanks to everyone for their donations for prizes. What a great group! It should be fun. Good luck!
Thank you,
Linda Brown
AWARDS!!
Last Chance at March meeting!
If you are eligible for an award for 2015 please get me your info as soon as possible. If you have an old style plaque, the kind with the plates with the white tape on them, please bring me the entire plaque. The new style plates DO NOT fit the old plaques properly. It is MUCH easier for our engraver to make adjustments to plates to fit plaques if she has the whole thing. If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me via e-mail or by phone!

A message from the specialty chairperson, Sue Sommer, regarding our June Show:
I hope the lion-like beginning of March hasn't caused everyone to burrow back into their warm houses for the entire month, since we have some details to nail down about our specialty this year. I'll bring the lovely clipboard to enlist volunteers. If you won't be at the meeting, please let me know if you plan to help at the show.
We also don't have a perfect theme chosen, so if you have a brilliant idea PLEASE share it. And as usual, please think of the raffle table while shopping--we have had such success the last couple of years, thanks to the efforts of the WLRC awesome members.

Thanks,

A Recipe for Your Dog
ST. PATTY'S DAY PATTIES
For the Labs and Lassies in your home! This recipe relies on green peas to impart a greenish hue to the patties, but your dogs will appreciate the taste more than the appearance.
YIELDS: 20 (2") patties
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup whole-wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
4 strips bacon, diced
4 cups green peas, fresh or frozen
2 tablespoons water
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Lightly oil a cookie sheet.
2.In a large bowl, mix dry ingredients. In a small skillet, fry bacon and reserve drippings; cool.
3. Place peas and water in a blender or food processor and puree. In a separate large bowl, mix blended peas and bacon with drippings; add dry ingredients and mix well.
4. Turn out dough on a lightly floured surface and knead; pat out or roll to under 1/2" thickness. Cut with cookie
cutters to desired shape and place on lightly oiled cookie sheet.
5. Bake for 25 minutes or until browned.
6. Cool and serve or refrigerate. Refrigerate for 5 days orfreeze in an airtight container for up to 6 months.
Remember, Deb Hamele is updating the website and would love some new pics to include. If you have any pics from special events (specialty, WC, Hunt Test, Parties) email them to her, please! She also encourages everyone to look at the website and let her know if your listing needs an update.
