”Financial support for the employment of post-doctoral researchers”
The purpose of this call is to provide financial support to MultiPark’s project leaders (PIs and partners listed at that need to employ postdoctoral researchers. The support is restricted to a maximum of 12 months and it should be used as a source of co-funding (as a complement of the applicant’s own resources).
The support will be given for the employment of postdoctoral researchers who obtained their positions in open competition announced at Lund University. Applicants should therefore send proposals describing a specific project within the scope of MultiPark’s research that requires the recruitment of a postdoctoral researcher. The description must include a report about the progress and prospects for the current project in terms of possible publications and achievements, as well as a list of potential candidates (with their CVs) who are likely to obtain the announced position.
Eligibility criteria
- The research topic should fall within the area of Neuroscience, including brain and central nervous diseases, and with a special focus on aspects described in the research programme of MultiPark (
- The postdoc’s supervisor* has to apply, but the application will lead to the funding of onespecific candidatewho haveobtained his/her current position in open competition.
- Since the aim of MultiPark is to reinforce the current research at Lund University, the ideal candidate must have been active under postdoctoral training at Lund University for at least 15 months (but not more than 24 months) at the time of submission of the application.
- The candidate’s project should have started already, but not finished, and expected to be completed within the year of funding. The quality of the project and its potential impact are the primary selection criteria.
- Candidates, who are likely to be able to start independent research within 2-3 years and obtain a position from e.g. the Swedish Research Council, or from a similar body in another country, will be prioritized.
- The host group should not have access to alternative funding that can fully fund this particular candidate. If the supervisor/candidate get(s) other funding for the same purpose during the one year period, the remaining MultiPark money must be returned.
- The grant will only be awarded once for a particular candidate.
- Two referees evaluate the proposals including possible personal interviews. The referees recommend applications for funding to the MultiPark’s board where the final decision will be made.
