Everyone has different hobbies or recreational activities they enjoy such as eating foods, playing basketball, video games, tennis. For me, I like to play the piano in my spare time. I believe that by playing the piano, I can release my stress, enhance concentration, and develop hand-eye integration.

Spending time alone playing the piano in the pursuit of a new skill helps me reduce my stress. When I am stressed, I usually play the piano because it makes me calm down. Since I am emotional at all times, I usually express my feelings by playing the piano. For example, when I am angry, I play very loud tone to express my anger. Similarly, when I am happy, I play very sweet and soft sound with the piano. Until I found my way of releasing my stress was by playing the piano, I tried every method such as going to the karaoke room or eating foods, but I found that it was temporarily useful.

Additionally, playing the piano helps me enhance the concentration. When playing the piano, I am not only learning a new song but also memorizing the song. When I try to memorize the song, I begin to learn how to use foot pedals, how to do sight reading, and how to recognize the chords that I wanted. By having this process, my mind improves. Sometimes, I get distracted by my cell phone and computer before I begin to study or work on my school assignments. In order to get away from the distractions, increase my concentration and go back to study, I play the piano. I was very amazed how much I could enhance my concentration.

Last but not least, hand-eye organization can be developed. Hand-eye integration is the term when eyes and hands correlate at the same time. Beginner learners will learn how to play in both hands and how to use them properly. Next, beginners will have to know how to read the notes by using their eyes. In order to play the piano successfully, beginners will have to practice how to coordinate both eyes and hands at the same time. When I was five years old, I started to learn how to play the piano. At first, I only learned how to play the piano by one hand. But then, when it came to playing the piano in both hands, Iwas very confused because I had to read the notes for both hands at the same time while I am playing the piano. I had to keep practice, practice, and practice for a lot of times in order to match my sight reading skills and my playing skills. Now, as a professional, I play the piano only by doing sight reading rather than looking at the keys that I have to press.

AfterI found my hobby as playing the piano, I could release the stress, enhance focus, and synchronize both hands and eyes.Becoming professional in playing the piano takes a long time but all you need is to practice, practice, and practice which makes perfect.
