HOURS OF WORK: / Such hours as are necessary to fulfil the requirements of your position to the satisfaction of UKDBA, and may include work in evenings, on weekends and publicholidays as required.
Variable commitments (mostly weekends)
LOCATION: / Mobile workplace including training venues and to include time at domesticand overseas training camps and competition/tournaments.
TENURE: / The duration of the agreed contract
PERIOD OF NOTICE: / 30 days

Job Purpose

To assist and support in the delivery of the organisational, technical, tactical, physical and emotional development of players namedto the Wales National Women’s Team.

To implement high quality training and competitive programmes for players competing at major competitions.

Your main responsibility will be the Wales Dragons Dodgeball Women’s Squad. Selecting the playing team, coaching and working with players at competitions to get the best out of the team.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

To identify players for the Wales Dragons Dodgeball Women’s Squad, in accordance with the UK Dodgeball Association’s selection policy.

To work closely with the National Manager and Management Team to ensure the effective development of players.

Develop training & competition programmes for the continuous development of high performance players to an agreed budget.

Personally coach and oversee the training and competition programmes for the National Senior Women.

Continually develop, update and monitor performance.

Report on the development of players.

Seek external stimuli and maintain personal knowledge of current coaching standards, tactics and techniques in Dodgeball.

To help develop and maintain a successful image and profile for International Dodgeball both in the UK andworldwide and to contribute to communication activity – including media briefings and publicity ofperformance activity within the sport.

Undertake player welfare responsibilities and duties.

Develop a robust network of contacts within UKClubsto aid the process of identifying potential eligible players.

Person Specification

Effective leadership with a proven track record in an elite dodgeball environment, acknowledged byplayers and coaches as having expert knowledge and credibility.

Committed to and a proven track record of personnel development and a willingness to embrace daily

A skilful and persuasive communicator with a deep understanding of world class dodgeball performance and the needs of elite players and coaches. Willing to take full responsibility for playerdevelopment.

Understanding of how individual players are motivated and able to vary approaches to develop thevery best performance and to bring the best out of existing talent — ability to make behavioural changeto have a positive impact on performance.

Skill in fostering productive relationships with high performance staff and personal coaches, able toencourage creativity and contribution from others. Ability to work effectively with colleagues bothwithin dodgeball and from other organisations.

Conveys an image that is consistent with UKDBA values, demonstrating qualities, traits and demeanour thatcommand leadership respect.

Working knowledge of key partners: Sports Councils, Sport Accord, British Olympic organisations.

Willing to work irregular hours and when needed travel extensively both within the UK and overseas,with overnight stays and weekend work.

Shows integrity and is fair, equitable and ethical in approach. Protects confidential information,adheres to policies and demonstrates loyalty to dodgeball and the high performance team.

Has a knowledge of and connections with dodgeball clubs in the United Kingdom and/or Europe.
