NAEORF -- NATIONAL AMTELCO EQUIPMENT OWNERS RELIEF FUND

GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES

The purpose of the NAEORF is to provide financial assistance to needy employees of NAEO member companies who experience a natural disaster or suffer unexpected personal hardship. Funding of the NAEORF is due in large part to the generous donors who in many cases are either NAEO member companies or their employees. It is intended that all Relief Funds will be awarded in accordance with the following procedures, on an objective and non-discriminatory basis based on availability as solely determined by Relief Fund Selection Committee (defined below).

The Relief Fund is not meant to be a replacement for any other financial resources to which the applicant may have access, including but not limited to personal cash and other saleable assets, cash from friends or family, available credit, or bank loans.

Individual fund amounts will range from $100-$1,500 per year per individual.

  1. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Recipients of the Relief Fund must:

  1. Complete the Relief Fund Application Form.
  2. Demonstrate financial need resulting from a natural or other disaster.
  3. Not be related to any of the Relief Fund selection committee members with the National Amtelco Equipment Owners Foundation.
  4. Submit a letter/reference from your current employer verifying your financial need.

All applicants are required to:

  1. Complete the Relief Fund Application Form.
  2. Submit a letter/reference from your current employer verifying your financial need
  3. Submit the Application

  1. SELECTION COMMITTEE AND RELIEF FUND CRITERIA

The Relief Fund Selection Committee will be appointed by the President of NAEO. Members of the Relief Fund Selection Committee may not be related to any person who could be eligible to receive funds from NAEORF. The Relief Fund Selection Committee will meet on an as-needed basis. Relief Fund award decisions will be based solely on the following criteria:

  1. The availability of funds to provide current and future funds.
  2. Applicant’s financial need resulting from a natural or other disaster.
  3. Applicant’s status as a needy employees of an NAEO member company.

National Amtelco Equipment Owners will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, age, disability, public assistance status, or sexual orientation.

  1. NOTICE OF AWARDS

Applicants will be notified in writing and or phone via the Relief Fund Award Notification Form regarding the approval or denial of the Relief Fund Application. The Notification Form must be signed by a member of the Relief Fund Selection Committee.

  1. REVOCATION OF FUNDS

NAEORF reserves the right to cancel any Relief Fund awarded at any time if the applicant fails to meet the standards set forth in these procedures, or falsifies information reported.

  1. RECORDS

NAEORF will keep the following records in an organized fashion, searchable by name of the applicant, for not fewer than six (6) years following the last Relief Fund payment or denial of Relief Fund payment to an applicant:

  1. TAX COMPLIANCE

Relief Funds may constitute taxable income to the recipient.

  1. INVESTIGATION OF DIVERTED FUNDS

If NAEORF receives information indicating that the Relief Fund was or is not being used to further the purpose of such funds, NAEORF will investigate such misuse of funds. During such investigation further Relief Funds shall not be dispersed to the person who is the subject of the investigation. NAEORF will take reasonable steps to recover funds that it determines were misused by a Relief Fund recipient. Where a recipient has previously diverted funds received from NAEORF, NAEORF will not make additional funds to such person.
